Daniel Ayala Ms. Speight Honors English II 10 December 2014 Research Essay Stephen Covey once said, "Most of us spend too much time on what is urgent and not enough time on what is important." Teens have a large amount of time taken away from them due to school activities and have events also going on at their house. For teens homework is very time consuming and can prevent them from doing what they like. Although teens usually dislike any assignments given to them from school, adults approve of homework and see many benefits from it. Contrary to popular belief, homework has more disadvantages than advantages due to the stress students receive, the time taken away from them, and it proves to be ineffective according to test results. First of all, the stress level of teens have always been high because they have to manage numerous activities, and homework seems to be directly associated with the amount of stress teens have. Managing time has been a problem for many teenagers and stacks of homework from school results in negative effects according to many statistics. For example, a survey done by Clifton Parker, a Stanford researcher, shows how many students consider homework to be a source of stress and it states, "56 percent of the students considered homework a primary source of stress ...
