Tory Burch began her company by designing clothes in her kitchen after she received a gift of $2 million from her ex-husband. In just less than a decade Burch became a billionaire (Lutz). Tory Burch is a lifestyle brand filled with originality, color and comfort. The brand accurately represents who Tory Burch is as a person in regards to her taste as well as her beliefs. Staying true to who Burch is, she created a global brand with more than 150 freestanding boutiques and a presence in more than 3,000 department and specialty stores (About Us).

Subsequently, the brand is a representation of Tory Burch, therefore, the common message and brand DNA reflects who she is. Burch has a unique style, which consists of preppy-bohemian luxe and preppy boho. Burch stated, “My company is an extension of me, so when I designed my stores I wanted people to feel that they were in my home” (Tory Burch Quotes). In 2009 Tory Burch signed an agreement with Luxottica to create her own sunglasses and eyewear collection. That original contract was only a six year agreement. Recently in 2014 they renewed the original contract for now 10 years expiring in 2024. Tory plays a big role in the creation of her eyewear collection. The focus around the glasses has been consistent since 2009 she plays with colors and graphic prints (Luxottica).Tory’s vision is for people to get excited about buying a new fun pair of sunglasses or glasses. Most of her glasses have unusual shapes like square, cat eyes, and oversize. Most of her collections are very different from what you see everyday.
