What is this incredible force which drives us to leave the safe shelter of our homes to travel to places sometimes thousands of miles from our native lands? Is tourism good or bad? Well, in order to answer that, we need to know what the benefits and detriments of tourism are. Tourism is known to be the world’s largest industry, where a lot of money is made . It is a very crucial area. Many countries around the world spend a lot of money, billions and billions of dollars in tourism in order to ensure that it continues. Nowadays more and more people are becoming aware of the decrease in the expenses of travelling and hence tourism is booming. Although many may see this as a positive phenomenon, it is not a trend without drawbacks. Tourism is an interesting subject matter as it is an industry that has been travelling with the wild pace of technological advancements. It is a revenue generating industry. Undoubtedly, there are some advantages of tourism in the global world of today. However, tourism is a problematic issue which has disadvantages that should not be overlooked. Many people assume that traveling is a positive force in the world that brings many different cultures together.
