Alan Alexander Milne was a very well known author, impacting many children’s childhoods with his work of “Winnie the Pooh.” Milne was born in January 18, 1956, in London, England. His parents were John Vine Milne and Sarah Maria Heginbotham, and he was the youngest out of his two other brothers. As he grew up, Milne had a very close bond with his father. Another person that he was close to was his brother Ken.

When it comes to the subject of history, doesn’t it make more sense to learn what really happened rather than from a fable? History can be taught in various ways, one is through historical facts. As harsh as these facts are to learn from at times, such as the brutality of the Holocaust, they are a better way to grasp the realities of the past. Teaching history through fiction is an ineffective way to teach students because it is misleading and gives a distorted view.

The Boy in the Striped Pajamas by John Boyne is a historical fiction novel about a german boy named Bruno who meets a young jewish boy named Shmuel during the time of the Holocaust and become good friends. In The Boy in the Striped Pajamas Bruno (a young german boy) and Shmuel (a young jewish boy) become friends and let nothing get in their way. Throughout the book there is a fence that separates Bruno from Shmuel and the two boys decide to do something about it. In The Boy in the Striped Pajamas the fence is a physical barrier, but also represents separation due to race and wealth. The fence was not only a physical barrier, but also separated the Jewish people from the Germans due to their race.

The majority of the movie took place through his recounting of his memories from early childhood all the way up to his current age. “Little Red Riding Hood” dates back to the 16th century and this story has been told in a variety of ways. The one thing that hasn’t changed is that it is one of the most popular fairy tales. Like most fairy tales, red riding hood has become altered and is used to entertain children. Even today the story of Little Red continues to be shared to audiences of varying ages. One of the biggest differences between the modern versions and the traditional versions is the censorship. If you were to analyze “Little Red Riding Hood” you could say there is a lot of dark latent content. This content teaches the reader a lesson about strangers using murder, rape, and even cannibalism. Many people would agree it is too dark for children. The modern versions censor this content more than the classic versions.
