Today, we're gonna be talking about posture, specifically in children, but also in adults. When you lose your core because you haven't got any fitness, and you have haven't been exercising, you can slouch, you can walk improperly, you can hurt your hips and your back. Today, I'm gonna be using my book, Nurses on Our Own, for nurse Sally to walk with this on her head like we used to to keep from slouching. Our mother's always told us to sit up straight, and if you don't have your shoulders up straight when you use the computer or when you're bent over, or you bend your head over, it's like 30 pounds of weight on your head and on your spine. So it could be a terrible problem. Now you can use balancing, you can use trampolines, you can use all

In the stories "Live to Tell", "Interlopers", and "Way Up to Heaven" the shared literary element is suspense which gets developed through imagery. Each of these stories is unique in their own way. However they all have one thing in common, suspense. Through settings and characters the authors develop a great sense of tension and suspense which keeps the reader interested.
Modifications of the original posture have been used in diverse situations, with applications found for “high,” “low,” and “reverse-Trendelenburg.”
It is very often that as a teacher I am encouraging my students to “sit up straight”, “face forward”, and “put your legs under your desk”. Would I have any sympathy for a student who responded by telling me that they couldn’t because their body would not allow them to do that based on the furniture that I have provided them in the classroom? Probably not. Students spend close to 30% of their total day in school and for the majority of that time, they are seated for long periods (Linton, Hellsing, Halme, & Akerstedt, 1994). And for the most part, the furniture in the classrooms is not designed to promote a good seating posture, which affects the students’ behavior and optimal performance (Mandal, 1981) Children who are uncomfortable in their seats may tend to demonstrate behaviors deemed inappropriate in the classroom. These behaviors may take the form of fidgeting, rocking, or other changes in their positions to take away any discomfort they are feeling. The student may seem inattentive, when in fact they are trying to cope with the discomfort they are feeling because of the chair (Oxford, 1969).
A normal human thoracic spine begins at the first vertebra (T1) and ends at the twelfth (T12). When viewed laterally (side), the thoracic spine presents a normal forward curvature, which ranges from twenty to forty-five degrees in roundness (Scoliosis Research Society, 2015). Excessive curvature that exceeds forty-five to fifty degrees causes an abnormal slouched posture known as kyphosis. According to Kamiah A. Walker (2011), “The vertebrae stack one on top of each other and are supposed to be rectangular” (para. 11). However, Walker adds that kyphosis “causes the vertebrae to become triangular or wedge shaped” (2011, para. 11). This results in an inward and forward postural change of the upper spine.
One inch of the head leaning forward from normal position adds ten extra pounds to the spine causing imbalance.
In this day and age, most of us don't strive to get a humpback look or feel the discomfort that comes from being slouched all the time, but that's exactly what we do. We spend time on our phones, tablets, and computers, and when we are not on those, we are reading in a slouched position. The amount of time we spend doing those things far outweighs the amount of time that we stop to stretch out our back and neck. So the damage being done can lead to permanent damage.
Poorly designed furniture causes pains and musculoskeletal disorders on the user, which later contribute to ineffectiveness of the users and affect the healthily well-being of the users. Improper furniture design also has a long term effect on the users due to pain and also through an addicted use of poorly designed furniture. Due to increased Information Technology (IT) and Internet usage, with users spending more time at the computer desk, either at work or at home which is also major cause of the spine deformations.
For this essay, two retail stores were visited and evaluated to determine which social class each store primarily targets, and how the concepts of cultural capital and habitus are used to appeal to each of these specific segments. The two stores visited for the purpose of this essay were the Walmart Supercenter in Bloomington, MN, and the William Sonoma kitchenware retailer located in the Mall of America in Bloomington MN.

Don't forget about your neck and back when you are stretching. If you sit at a desk for long periods of time, it is likely that you have unrecognized tension along your spine.
An examination of a person’s gait would reveal that the body is in a constant state of imbalance with each step taken. The body counteracts and maintains postural control and balance during these perturbations by regulating the integrated relationship between center of mass (COM) and base of support (BOS); and we use observe the effects of this relationship with use of the motion analysis system. Therefore, the purpose of this lab is to examine the relationship between COM and BOS during walking. I hypothesized that of the three walking task, (normal walking, walking along a tape line, and walking while balancing a book on your head), that walking while balancing a book upon your head would have the greatest amount of COM sway
Keeping the sitting position is very important for health and posture. Therefore, it is important for us to take care of this activity and we remain dynamic appearance before others. The important thing is to stay relaxed, not stiff, and every time always move or crusting members
Do you know that bad posture is a common problem in our current generation? It is also true to state that most activities we carry out during the day involves the use of technology. This can be through the use of a phone, tablet or a computer. It is therefore good to have a forward head body posture.
Ralph Waldo Emerson, a famous poet once quoted the following, “For every minute you remain angry, you give up sixty seconds of peace of mind.” Anger as we all know can be a very powerful emotion that can have many different effects, firstly on the person that is experiencing the emotion, secondly the person or persons who is around the said anger filled individual. However, the intention of this paper is not to focus on anger, but to focus on the persuasion that people can use when giving speeches or in this case, preaching. John Edwards, a preacher in the new world takes the time to diligently preach his congregation, this is now the writing we know as, Sinners in the hand of an Angry God. While exploring this piece of writing, it is important to note that John Edwards uses many ways to persuade his congregation to believe that God is angry. The keys to his persuasion are as following, the people are out of God’s grace, they are wicked, and everyone has committed a sin.
