Richart “Reishee” Sowa is a British artist who built a floating artificial island called Joyxee Island. Sowa built his first island in a lagoon near Puerto Aventuras in Mexico in 2005. Locals chased him away from the community. This was a blessing in disguise, however since five days after the altercation, the island was destroyed by Hurricane Pauline. Sowa, then built another one, but its demise was (Deja vu) due to a hurricane. Sowa, then built another one called Joyxee Island on calmer waters in Isla Mujeres, Mexico in the womb of the fish. The womb of the fish is the location of the center of a larger island called the fish. This fish is the island Isla Mujeres. This island is shaped like a fish and is sacred to the Mayan goddess of childbirth

The Tuscarora lived in North Carolina along the coastal river, their peaceful ways and unlimited amount of patience earned them nothing but abuse from the colonists (Axelrod 60). One day a Swiss Entrepreneur, Baron Christoph von Graffenreid wanted to take control of land that had been occupied with the Tuscarora village. Instead of Graffenreid talking with the Indians who were presently on the land, he decided to speak with North Carolinas surveyor general; who decided to vote in favor of Baron Christoph von Graffenreid deciding that the settlers, “held clear title to the land” (Axelrod 58). Graffenreid decided to drive the Indians off of their own land on September 22, 1711 the Indians were left with no other option but to attack (Axelrod
Hurricane Katrina, one of the most destructive hurricanes to whirl through the southern states of America in 2005, is probably one of the worst natural disasters of the United States in the 21st century. Damages from the storm were estimated at more than $100 billion . People living in the southern states fled north to reach safety from the storm after hearing about it being a category five hurricane on the news a few mornings before Katrina hit the shore. Authorities were doing what they were supposed to be doing, telling everyone to seek shelter, board up windows, head north and prepare for the storm. Everything in the beginning appeared to be just another

Hello, my name is Mariko Makishi. I am a second year student in Linn Benton Community College.
This company is known as Wags 4 Warriors, located in Brecksville, Ohio. Co-founded by Frank DeLorenzo, Wags 4 Warriors has helped change the lives of both soldiers and dogs across Northeast Ohio. Their motto, “The war may be over for us, but the battle has just begun” shows that war impacts everyone and may take a lifetime to cure (“WAGS 4 WARRIORS-Home”). Frank himself is a veteran from a 2007 war in Iraq. He suffered post-traumatic stress disorder and an injury to the brain. He was prescribed a service dog, but had to get it from out of state and it would take three years for him to meet his new companion. He and his wife did not agree with this, so they tried to train a dog themselves, and after the hard work it was a success. He spread his job by word of mouth and created an organization called Wags 4 Warriors (Patsko, Scott). Wags 4 Warriors has grown a lot since then. After only two years, Wags 4 Warriors has helped over 100 veterans and trained 60-70 dogs. Unfortunately, this is not as easy as it sounds. Training a service dog can take up to a year, but most veterans are done after six months if they stick with a five-day-a-week training schedule. After they find their dog, it takes 160 hours of classroom training and 60 hours of public time (Patsko, Scott). Wags 4 Warriors is one of the only companies in Northeast Ohio that trains dogs to help wounded veterans.
Ever since a former U.S. marine was arrested and charged with raping and killing a young Japanese woman in Okinawa in recent weeks, relations between the governments of Japan and the U.S. have been strained.

Getting a service dog is not as easy as going to the pet store and picking out the puppy who stares into the soul and says “pick me.” For the most part, service dogs require tedious training anywhere from twelve to twenty four months and are costly according to the training and trainer. Depending on the service needed, tasks of service dogs vary from retrieving items, turning off lights, and opening doors for a disabled person to detecting seizures to relieving a person suffering with post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). Captain Luis Montalvan tells his account of his service dog, Tuesday, that helps him face a society with visible and invisible disabilities and overcoming discrimination with the help of federal laws in his book Until Tuesday.
Service dogs and their handlers have an unbreakable bond. "Man and dog bonded right away, like they were made for each other." When Jose and Zenit began training together they formed an everlasting bond that would never break. When Zenit found an IED Jose let out a silent whoop because he was so proud of Zenit. Jose attended to the dog’s every need, from grooming to making sure Zenit didn’t get dehydrated. Just the two of them working together in the dusty, desert otherworld of Afghanistan. Jose said "you train your dog to do your job, leave the rest
Post-traumatic Stress Disorder, anxiety, or depression, amongst many other disabilities deserve to be acknowledged because of the medical advancements in the past several years which support the effectiveness of service animals. These disabilities affect the everyday lives of thousands of people throughout the United States, which is why I believe that service animals can be a beneficial component that may boost a person’s endurance. In the article, Service Dog Training Program for Treatment of PTSD in Service Members, a study written with the United States Army, results concluded that service animals were deemed effective in their practices. The article reports that veterans and service members had an “increase in patience, impulse control, [and] emotional regulation” (Yount, et al.). As a helpful practice for disabled persons, it is a civil injustice to discriminate against a person with a service dog. To neglect a disabled person’s accessibility to basic public services in modern society is a violation of human rights. I think that the lack of accommodations for service animals and their handlers is an overlooked issue in society, which is why I believe that my research is a relevant issue in modern
The Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM) (2013) defines Schizophrenia as one of the most common serious mental health conditions affecting men and women equally. It is a chronic condition that causes a range of different psychological symptoms including hallucinations (hearing or seeing things that do not exist) and delusions (believing in things that are untrue). These symptoms are often referred to as ‘symptoms of psychosis’, when an individual cannot distinguish between reality and their imagination (DSM, 2013). Wahashi et al. (2007) suggest that patients with schizophrenia often have difficulty in coping with everyday stressors and suffer emotional withdrawal and poor social functioning this can be particularly pronounced in patients living in an institutionalised setting (Wahashi et al. 2007).
