Beginning of the history, people had problems with transportation, from my point of view, transport is important because it enables trade between people, which is essential for the development of civilizations. The first transportation of humanity is walking and swimming. Everything about the transportation was just this and day by day transportation sector became changed because of the globalization and the needs which is the future brough to us. In my assey, I going to explaine what are this new ‘’needs’’ and how humanity solved these problems.
So in this case, i can explain that transport or transportation is the movement of people, animals and goods from one location to another and i can start to explain what is the ways of the transportation nowadays and close future. And I will show what are the alternative ways of transportation.
1) Pipeline transportation
Pipeline transport is the transportation of goods through in a pipe. Liquids and gases are transported in pipelines also almost all of the kind chemically liquids can be sent through a pipeline. Sewage, slurry ,water, even beer can be example for this kind of transportation. But if the the topic is ‘’pipeline transportation’’ first example must be crude petroleum and refined petroleum products.
A pipeline becoming steel pipes (the line) and the lines have pomp stations in the line because lines must push the liquids. In pipeline transportations, costumers always have the same amount of the liquids which is
Opponents of the use of the pipeline mode to transport fuel claim that it is responsible for numerous deaths that occur annually. The rate of increased accidents is attributable to the fact that as a mode of fuel transportation, minimal oversight, outdated pipes, and insufficient precautions subject
Transportation financial matters, the investigation of the portion of transportation assets keeping in mind the end goal to address the issues of a general public. In a macroeconomic sense, transportation exercises shape a part of a country's aggregate financial item and assume a part in building or reinforcing a national or local economy and as an impact in the advancement of area and different assets. In a microeconomic sense, transportation includes relations in the middle of firms and individual buyers. The interest for and supply of transportation for both travelers and cargo, transportation evaluating, and the reasons why the transportation framework is both managed and deregulated are among its worries. Economist claim that since the United States depends on oil so much, this project would definitely be a huge asset to the country. Right now, oil is usually transferred using the railing system. There have been many accidents involving trains with oil, which have caused explosions, fire and in turn, death. Economists argue that the pipeline would be the safest way to transport the oil without the dangers of trains.
The Keystone XL Pipeline is a pipe system that transports oil between the United States and Canada via a system of underground pipes. The pipeline begins in Alberta, Canada, and runs all the
The development and manufacturing of the oil pipelines would bring a tremendous amount of job opportunities to the Canadian economy. Creating more jobs is important in the development of a country. According to CBC, it is projected that the development of oil pipelines
The Keystone Pipeline is a crude oil pipeline that runs from Canada to the United States. The original pipeline goes through most of Canada before crossing over the border into the United States, running its way down into Illinois. The proposed Keystone XL pipeline extension provides a blueprint for the extension to go from the origin point in Alberta through the American prairie states into Nebraska connecting into the original pipeline and adding a new line going from the original pipeline in southern Nebraska into Texas and the Gulf of Mexico. Although the Keystone Pipeline provides a great service for the United States and Canada for the transportation of oil, there are some
Innovative thinkers and large minds of industry have decided that building a massive pipeline running through many rivers, cities, and one of the largest freshwater reserves in the United States is a good business idea. They will be able to transfer giant amounts of oil across a set distance very easily. This section from an informative website explains the project, "The Keystone XL Pipeline Project is a proposed 1,179-mile (1,897 km), 36-inch-diameter crude oil pipeline, beginning in Hardisty, Alta., and extending south to Steele City, Nebraska. It is intended to be a critical infrastructure project for the energy security of the United States and for strengthening the American economy."(TransCanada). These are factors of why building this pipeline will be useful. Many costs of transportation will be easily avoided and the time is takes will be shortened significantly.
Pipeline transportation has been around for many years and is very contributory to the United States transportation system. According to Pipeline101 (2016d), the use of pipelines for oil transport has been around since the 19th century (p. 1). The first pipes only went a short distance, and delivered oil from drill holes directly to tanks or refineries (Pipeline101, 2016d, p.1). As the demand for products increased, so did the pipeline industry. During the 1860s, pipe material changed from cast or wrought iron to steel (Pipeline101, 2016d, p.1). In the beginning of the 20th century, the oil business shift from kerosene lamp oil to gasoline in an effort to keep up with the rise of automobile production (Pipeline101, 2016b, p. 1). After some successful years of business, the Federal government felt the need for involvement and passed the Valuation Act in 1913 as their first attempt in the ratemaking (Pipeline101, 2016b, p. 1). Within twenty years’ crude oil pipes were running across most of the nation (Pipeline101, 2016b, p. 1). Just as things were going well, oil production declined throughout the lower states and the petroleum supply was mostly derived from Canada and overseas (Pipeline101, 2016c, p. 1). Companies in the Gulf Coast, California, and the Mid-West, quickly assisted (Pipeline101, 2016c, p. 1). In 1968 another concern arose, how to transport oil through the frigid mountains of Alaska. After much research and work, in 1977, the Trans-Alaska Pipeline was
The first pipelines were nothing special; they were short and sometimes made of wood. With their growing popularity into the 1860s, the quality control followed over the pipe manufacturing, switching from wrought iron to steal. (Pipeline 101, n.d.) Coming into the twenty-first century, the pipeline has still been playing a key role in the oil industry. Given, its importance to the oil industry it is important to understand how
Transportation is one of the most important things in this planet. No one can do anything with their money if they can’t either get to the place where they spend it or get what they are buying to them. Transportation played a huge role in the later part of the 19th century in increasing the amount of movement of people and objects which helped with economic growth in America.
Pipelines are often viewed as a danger to the environment; this can be true as an oil spill can cause tremendous issues of toxicity and the death of wildlife. The companies who build pipelines are doing their best to ensure the safety of the wildlife and the environment. Preventative and safety efforts being made include leak detection systems and trenches that, if a leak were to occur, will keep oil from being carried away from the pipeline and contaminating the surrounding land (Congressional Digest, 2011). The United States has more than 2.4 million miles of energy pipeline; seventy-two thousand of which are crude oil lines used to supply oil to Americans (Kalen, 2012). Pipelines are something that already exist and
The chapter first introduces us to the railroad, then the steamship. It later clarifies that shipping products by water was by far cheaper than land transportation. One of the articles it contains reveals how Shanghai thrived as a port during the nineteenth century. The city was situated near the Yangzi River where ships were allowed to carry various products to inland China. Another article featured Stamford Raffles and how he found Singapore. Raffles created Singapore by making it an entrepot for trade; therefore, his city flourished due to its prime location in the East Indies. Articles like these clearly demonstrate why transportation was so important.
Initially, there is the mode of land transportation. Roads, rails and pipelines fall under this category. These land logistics are very important because they extend the delivery services for air and water transport from airports and seaports. The main transport mode of land logistics are railway, road freight and pipeline transport. The advantage of railway transport is that it has carrying capacity and lower influences by weather conditions
The use of the transportation system has made life in the world simpler, since we depend on transportation to transport us to and from our daily operations. Today, in this world we can go anywhere we choose to, due to how transportation has evolved over the years starting from the wheel. Transportation has made the world a very comfortable to live in, but sometimes as humans we sometimes forget to appreciate the small things in life like transportation. Our time in life is very valuable, and transportation helps supports our valuable time by transporting us to different places at a faster speed. If transportation decided to abruptly come to an end, the world would end up in chaos, because without transportation this world would be a difficult place to live in. If people have no means of transporting them themselves in this world, how would they keep their job and find a job, in order to put food on the table for themselves and their families. If people in this world today, just all of sudden get sick, how would they be able to transport themselves to the hospital. If there is no transportation how people go into stores in buy food, clothes, medicine, and other necessary items that help them sustain health. Transportation is one of the reason, why so many of us have food on our refrigerator and tables at night and clothes on our back. In this world today, there are many sick children in this world that need our support, and transportation is one of the
As quoted by Rodrigue, J-P (2013), “the most important transport problems are often related to urban areas and take place where transport systems fails to satisfy the various requirements of urban mobility because of several reasons. Productivity of any urban area is highly dependent on its transport system and also its efficiency to regulate goods, workers and consumers between multiple origins and destinations”.
