Scalp Ringworm, Pediatric Scalp ringworm (tinea capitis) is a fungal infection of the skin on the scalp. This condition is easily spread from person to person (contagious). Ringworm also can be spread from animals to humans. CAUSES This condition can be caused by several different species of fungus, but it is most commonly caused by two types (Trichophyton and Microsporum).
