Analysis The question for the experiment was “Which brand of trash bag can hold the most?” The hypothesis for this experiment was “If the Kirkland brand is tested, then it will hold the most weight?” The Independent Variable of the experiment was the weight that is put in the cans. The Dependent Variable for the project was how much weight the bags will hold before they break. The Control Variables were the same location, same weight that is added to the bags, and the trash bags were the same size. Once the trash bag is hanging on the ladder, then add five cans. If the bag is still holding the weight, then add another five cans. When the experiment was conducted, the bags usually ripped around 20 or 25 cans. The second trial held 14 kilograms. The last trial of the Glad brand held 9.5 kilograms. The best trial was the second trial. The Hefty brand’s first trial held 6.9 kilograms before ripped. The second trial held 7.5 kilograms, and the third trial held 11.9. The last trial held the most. The Great Value brand’s first trial held 10.7 kilograms before it broke. The second trial held 9.7 kilograms, and the third trial held 10.5 kilograms. The first trial held the most.The Kirkland brand’s first trial held 14 kilograms, the second trial held 15.8 kilograms, and the third trial held 14.7 kilograms. The second trial held the most. The Price First’s first trial held 7.2 kilograms. The second trial held 8.5 kilograms, and the third trial held 8.1 kilograms. The second trial was the best.
