First and foremost I have an affinity for the arts, I spend my leisure time painting on canvas. Not only do I love art on canvas, but I appreciate all forms of it. I have always admired the films produced by the Tribeca Film festival, and for the first time this year was able to attend a screening (The Family Fang). Year after year Tribeca has remained true to the art and continues to hold a variety of diverse films. The festival serves as a pillar to the arts and culture of New York. Lastly, I do my best work when I am passionate and connected to it. After pursuing my MBA I realized I do not want the typical wall street job, I want to be somewhere that I can bring my personality and creative ideas to the job. It would be an honor to continue
On 1/16/17 at 0225 hours my partner, Officer Thebeau #8402, and I were working patrol assigned to unit 3A11. We responded to a radio call of “shots fired” in the area of 814 N. Garfield Ave. The comments of the call stated, a 19 year old female was shot in the hand.
They told me that the Greenwich Village is known as the paradise of artists and I can feel it in the air in moments like watching a 50-year-old man performing Oasis songs playing guitar with sunglasses on in the Washington Square. I can’t help picturing myself walking across the streets and going to class in a school that dispersed in this area full of creative and artistic vibes. Also, I can work with my new friends in not only Music Business major but also in Clive Davis Department on music projects together: I can be the top-liner, vocalist and they can be the producers and
On 06/19/17, a t12:00pm, I Deputy Warden N. Christian was dispatched to 3251 Miriam Drive South on an injury-possible dangerous or vicious dog. I arrived at the location and was advised by The Columbus Division of Police (CPD) that the victim is being transported to Mount Carmel West Hospital (793 W State St) for her injuries and dog owner resides at the above location. I exited my vehicle and approached the dog owner. I spoke to dog owner Alex Kriglowitz and his wife. I asked Mr. Kriglowitz what transpired. He explained he was mowing his lawn and opened the side fence to mow the side yard. His dog was in the backyard. Mr. Kriglowitz completed mowing and forgot to close the gate. Mr. Kriglowtiz went inside the house and the next thing
East Coast is known for so many different things; people, history, fashion, stores, and heritage. But the most recent trend is desserts. Desserts can be sweet, savory, healthy or unhealthy. Desserts make people feel happy especially east coasters.
Growing up in rural North Carolina was both a blessing and a curse. My hometown, Fallston, North Carolina, is a tiny town way off the beaten path. Most people speak with a southern accent, are devout christians, vote Republican, think camouflage is a normal fashion pattern, and adore country music. But while I was a child, none of these things were a problem. I never realized how close-minded everyone was or how there were no opportunities for success; I was too concerned with the three most important events of the year: the Fallston FunFest, the Belwood Tractor Pull, and the Cleveland County Fair. However, as I grew older, zeal wore off and reality set in. I started to realize how conservative and restrictive it was. What little Fallston offered,
Hwy. 395, past a marker grandma green church of my childhood. Our post Ironman week was less than typical. Hence, we are home turning over flagging remnants of overgrown August herbs, a plethora of scarlet blistering shishito peppers, and multi colored bells, discovering another garden dinner in the doing. My mother often made stuffed bell peppers which began with blanched, whole peppers full of ground beef, bread crumbs, bacon, and raw Minute Rice which magically cooked the tiny white bits as they bathed in bubbling stewed tomatoes topped with American cheese. Sixty years later, my sister and I reminiscence about those delicious packages of meatloaf and buttery new
My zipcode has given me a widespread of opourtunities in my life so far. Because of my Zip Code and the area I live in, I spent my childhood going to summer camps, and participating in Tee-Ball all because my zipcode offered these programs at a reasonable rate. My Zip Code limits us to the public schools that we are able to attend as well as some community colleges. Because of this, I would say that our opportunities are determined on where we live, and we can do whatever we want, to a certain extent. We have to abide by the villages rules certain recreational activities are sometimes available too people who live in a certain areas only. I remember when I was 8 years old I wanted to do the same golf camp that my cousin did at Marrionette
Montclair State University and I posses a common vision. I, like MSU believe in the power of thinking critically and acting ethically in every possible aspect of my life. I have chosen to study Nutrition at Montclair because I want to help people make educated lifestyle choices and develop healthy habits, which has always been a dream of mine. Because I intend to pursue a career in dietetics, I see Montclair State University as an ideal place for me. Offering impressive coursework and programs that will quench my thirst for knowledge, this university will prepare me for a dietetic internship and provide me the confidence of knowing that I would be getting an excellent education in nutrition at a top school with consistently high ratings.
The University of Chicago would be the ideal university to explore my interests. Chicago is one of the most resilient cities in the country, which causes the members of its community to be as strong. One of my favorite stories is about the rebuild after the Great Chicago Fire of 1871. After a two day conflagration the city was decimated, but instead of being defeated, they took the destruction as an opportunity to rebuild. Chicago was revitalized into an improved city. The University of Chicago’s mascot, Phil the Phoenix, perfectly represents the endurance of the city, which is a legacy I want to be part of and contribute to.
There are countless ways I could turn Rochester into the coolest place anyone has ever known. Perhaps the mere presence of an ex boyfriend/girlfriend or maybe one hundred thousand gallons of liquid nitrogen would accomplish the task, but my own talents and interests bring forth something far more unique. Nearly every day for five years I’ve practiced the bass guitar, honing my skills alongside two other friends, a guitarist and drummer. This may sound cliche, a simple group of friends rocking out together, but the real feel chill factor is our love for science, particularly aerospace and rocketry. During our sessions, we shoot off our individually designed and constructed rockets (with proper safety guidelines of course). Consequentially, the
I plan on furthering and pursuing my craft of storytelling at USC. I look forward to collaborating with other creative minds as I do at my current college. At Diablo Valley College I am apart of the DVC film club and a member of the film production community. They are like my family and I plan on meeting and forming a new family filmmakers at USC to grow with. Along with meeting new collaborators, I also have multiple friends that live in the Los Angeles area that are in the film and music industry. I plan on working with them as well and combining the two communities of friends. I am certainly going to push myself to leave my comfort zone right away and not hold back. I am a strong believer in the idea that being in uncomfortable situations
Business has always interested me. I was always looking for a way to make an extra dollar. Whether it was buying items at low prices from the thrift shop and then selling them high or even creating a lemonade stand when I was younger with some of my friends. That is why I feel that the Stern School of business is the right area of study for me. In addition to the Stern school of business being a great fit for me, I also love the community that NYU has to offer. NYU has a rich history of great sports team and a tight knit community. I look forward to joining a community that thrives in the classroom and out on the sports fields, or in my personal favorite, hockey. I look forward to Friday night games with my friends cheering on my classmates.
I dedicated my higher education to theatrical stage management, which requires many of the same organization and management skills that are essential for an Assistant Director. I earned a BA in drama from UC Irvine, receiving Honors in Stage Management during my sophomore year, and graduating at the end of my junior year. After completing my undergrad, I moved to New York to attend Columbia University and I earned my MFA in Stage Management. While at Columbia, I had the opportunity to meet, observe, and learn from top industry professional, work on educational, Off-Broadway, and Broadway productions, and, after being hired on a Columbia-affiliated professional production, join the theatrical union for actors and stage managers, Actors Equity
There are few certainties of what one will encounter during life. A common joke names two: death and
I really had trouble getting a career in Amsterdam my hometown, I decided to move to a bigger city Rochester, NY to increase my chances, it was where my sister and some friends from college lived. My family and I use to take road trips there occasionally it was about a three hour drive. My sister Sharon let me live with her family until I got a job and was able to afford a place on my own. I was so appreciated that I would do small jobs around the house for instance, making cabinets, mowing, and painting windows. She let me drive her Volkswagen Beatle Bug until I could get my own ride. I ended up buying my brother in-laws four door 1978 Chevy Malibu. When his dad died, he left it in the will for him.
