Before going to Hawaii, most of my summer and Christmas vacations were spent traveling to visit family. My dad was in the military, so when he was given leave, we were always going back to our hometown of Shreveport, Louisiana. Sometimes, if we were lucky, we went to Georgia to visit our relatives in Augusta. So imagine my surprise when, as a present for doing great in school the previous year, my parents decided to take me and my sisters to Hawaii for the summer! Once we packed our suitcases and planned our travel itinerary, we were on a plane and headed from Texas, where we lived, to Hawaii. I’m sure the process was a bit more complicated than that, but I was only 13 years old and didn’t realize that at the time.
Before I get into our final destination, let me provide a quick description of where we were going. The state of Hawaii is not just one island. Hawaii is actually made up of eight major islands: Hawaii (or the Big Island), Oahu, Maui, Kauai, Niihau, Molokai, Lanai, and Kahoolawe. My parents were taking us to Oahu, which is where the city of Honolulu and Waikiki Beach is located.
When I thought of Hawaii, I immediately pictured grass huts and ladies dancing hula. Of course, the

My dad wanted to get away from the busy tourist areas for the morning, so we went to the beach on the North Shore of the island. We went to the beach in Haleiwa, which is a town on the North Shore of Oahu. The waves there are said to be the best in the world for surfers. Haleiwa has a lot of surf shops and boutiques, as well as tons of restaurants where you can taste authentic Hawaiian food made from the friendliest people. The beach itself was great. My parents were able to relax and unwind on shore, and my sisters and I played in the water and on the sand. By the end of our second day in Hawaii, our whole family was tired and ready to get back to the hotel room, bathe and get ready for

When people plan to attend Hawaii they think of beautiful beaches, great exotic food, and the smell of wonderful flowers never before smelt. That is exactly what they get, from turquoise blue water to skyscraping palm trees Hawaii has so many exotic things to see. Also all the great smells of Hawaii from the wild fruit to the roasted pig on the beach Hawaii definitely brings to mind one thing happiness. In Hawaii there are many things that bring happiness to mind such as the extravagant smells, not to mention the beautiful sights, and most of all the spectacular taste in the exquisite food they have in Hawaii.
I have a lot of affection for Waimanalo, yet I am one-sided in light of the factthat I love everything about Hawaii.
Hawaii is a place that people dream of going to at least once in their lives. There are so many exciting and entertaining excursions to experience such as surfing, snorkeling, zip lining, and many more. When my mother decided we were going to Hawaii, she intricately planned every detail. She created a vacation outline and read it to my dad and I, “On Sunday I signed us up for surfing lessons on the beach, On Monday we are going to snorkel and explore the different kinds of coral reefs and fish, On Tuesday we are going ziplining in Kualoa’s Jurassic Valley Zipline”. The list continued until our last day of vacation.
I have never been away from home for no more than a couple of weeks at most. Home, the light ocean breeze, warm sun, and the oh so ever green mountains always waited for my return. Up until a couple of years ago, I never imagined leaving my home in Hawaii.
I live in a place where most people would call a dream; A place of beauty, a place of Aloha. Growing up I learned to never take Hawaii for granted. To be from Hawaii means to be surrounded by it's traditions and it's culture. Hawaii is more than my home, it is a part of me and who I am.
is that we have 50 completely diferent states, and Hawaii is one state that displays this difference perfectly. The first thing that makes Hawaii different is its island geography. Hawaii is the only United State that is an eyesland there are actually 137 total islands. Of all the islands there are eight main ones that people live on. Another feature of Hawaii being special is that it was made by volcanoes. Due to some of these volcanoes being active there are frequent earthquakes on the islands. There is one volcano that is currently active with flowing lava and makes Hawaii’s land size larger every day. The final interesting detail about Hawaii is its climate. Since it is located in the
American tourism to Hawaii has increased by 14.2 percent in just two years. This dramatic increase in tourism seems to be a beneficial boost for Hawaii's economy; however, the increasing rate of tourism is harming the native people of Hawaii. While the Hawaiian economy is experiencing one of its most fruitful years, the native Hawaiian people are suffering from job loss, poverty, depression, and an overall "cultural destruction" (Trask 260). Haunani-Kay Trask uses rhetoric to discuss these harmful effects in her essay "Tourist, Stay Home" in order to persuade her readers into believing that tourism can actually be a bad thing for an economy. On the other hand, in his article "Surf's Up for the Economy in Hawaii," Jim
An island vacation in Hawaii is guaranteed to be the trip of a lifetime – and your children will likely remember the experience long into adulthood. You might start your vacation with a snorkeling tour, which is sure to be a hit with younger kids and adolescents. Another stop you’ll want to make is at the Maui Ocean Center (one of the top-rated aquariums in the United States). Other kid-friendly activities worth considering on Maui are whale watching, touring the area by helicopter, and zip-lining in the jungle.
As you know I am traveling to Hawaii tomorrow,so I can go see my Aunt Lindsay. I can’t wait too see my new born baby cousin Brooks, and of course my cousin Davis. My Aunt told me that we are going too go visit the National Park in Hawaii. It’s name is “Hawaii Volcanoes National Park.” Before I go I want to research a little bit about the place,so I will write to you either on the Airplane or when I get to my destination.Good night.
Just landed! I am so excited, but i'm so jet lagged. We have a 1 hour layover, then we board another plane to American Samoa. The only airports in American Samoa are on the island Tutuila. The
Oahu is home to the majority of Hawaii's population for a reason. From the crystalline waters of Kailua Beach to the legendary North Shore, Oahu offers something for everyone. Whether you want to hike to the top of Diamond Head or wander small towns like Haleiwa, Oahu is one of the top destinations in the Hawaiian Islands. For history lovers, Pearl Harbor and Iolani Palace are top tourist sites. Meanwhile, top shops and boutiques can be found within Honolulu.
When I was in eighth grade I went on my first trip out of the country to Nassau, Bahamas. Going on this trip was one of the most exciting and unforgettable times of my life. Not only was it a fun experience, it was also the first time I realized that I love traveling. While there I was lucky enough to visit many places, such as Blue Lagoon Island and the beautiful Atlantis Resort, and immerse myself in the Bahamian culture. My time in The Bahamas was not my only great memory from that trip. The journey to get to The Bahamas itself was also quite interesting.
The ideal vacation for me is somewhere nice and warm. A vacation where you are suppose to be able to unwind and relax. Being around somewhere that isn't school related or teachers. For me, a way to relax is not to be around loud things, like little kids and preferably somewhere peaceful. A good vacation is somewhere near a nice beach, where I can have a delicious barbeque while chilling with some music. If there was a break, I would choose to go to Hawaii or somewhere with a breathtaking view so I can take many pictures.
Hawaii is basically my mom's dream come true, if she could, she would never leave the beach. Luckily for my Mom, my dad shares the same opinion. Which is why my parents have been there three times. Of course two of those, I did not have the pleasure of joining. I never realized how young I was until my older sister (who is only two years older) was shoving it in my face that she got to go and I didn't. In sixth grade, my parents finally decided that I finally could get in on the fun.
