What would you do if you had the chance to be immortal? Well, in our story “Tuck Everlasting” you’ll figure out just that. The lucky Tuck family has drunk from a spring that grants them immortality. Now they can never die.I’m going to talk about just a couple of character’s point of views on immortality. OK, now Tuck, our first character, is all against immortality, he hates it, despises it. First off, he thinks it’s unnatural, which it is,and it’s pretty hard work. I bet if he could get back to life and grow again, he’d do it in an instant. I’m with him on the fact that if no one died, the world would be a pretty nasty place. Next, we have Jesse, who absolutely loves immortality! Jesse is the party-happy-time all night
“When he himself might his quietus make With a bare bodkin? Who would fardels bear, To grunt and sweat under a weary life…” When reading Hamlet’s Soliloquy, this line made me question my own opinion on the value of life. If life is such a struggle, and there are so many obstacles that seem impossible to conquer, why not just end it? End the suffering: End the complication: Just kill yourself in hopes that the afterlife holds something better than than this daunting voyage. The answer is most people scared shitless. “But the dread of something after death… No traveler returns, puzzles the will.” When we die, there is no coming back; death is a journey and “No traveler returns.” Not knowing what comes after might be what keeps many of us alive. The fear of the

What they have to find out is if it is a blessing or a curse to live infinantley. When Winnie goes into the wood for her first time when she runs away, she finds Jesse, the youngest son in the Tuck family, and she spots the water and decides that she wants some. They must tell her the secret it holds, so they take her back to their house to make sure she knows why she must never tell anyone about the secret spring. On the way there, someone Winnie knew saw her being taken away and thought she was being kidnapped, and was then sent to retrieve her and bring her back home. While she was there she learned the importance of keeping the secret, and the world’s cycle of life and death, and how the Tucks have been pushed out of the cycle. While Winnie was there she found a deep love for the Tucks, especially Mr. Tuck. She soon felt that she didn’t want to leave, and then the man who saw her in the woods showed up to take her back, and he had a horrible plan to sell the magic water to the people. Mrs. Tuck knew that he had to be stopped, and by her actions she was sent to jail, and Winnie loved her so much, she was willing to risk her life to exchange Mrs. Tuck’s place in jail and for herself to go. After she was let out, she never saw the Tucks again. They returned many years later to find the wood all tore down and Winnie had passed away a few years before their arrival. Then they headed off separate ways and their secret still stood.
In the video that was assigned to us a woman by the name Tonier “Neen” Cain discussed her life story and the struggles she went through. She was born into a broken family with a mother that was an alcoholic and brutally beat her growing up. She was arrested 83 times and had 66 criminal convictions relating to her addiction. She got pregnant in 2004, and entered into a trauma treatment program. This program began to transform her life and the way she thought about herself. One of the main factors that I felt made her to the lifestyle she picked was the relationship she had with her mother. The mother wanted very little with her and her sense of self worth was greatly harmed because of this occurrence. She would seek to find her mother’s affection
Chuck Palahniuk once said, “The first step to eternal life, is you have to die.” In William Cullen Bryant’s poem “Thanatopsis”, he does not mention eternal life or anything religious, but speaks about death. He tells his readers that death is a natural thing and they should not worry about it. William Cullen Bryant, in his poem “Thanatopsis”, portrays a comforting view of death. Throughout the poem, Bryant encourages his readers by explaining that in death they are not alone, that death, like life, is a natural process, and that they will be among some of the finest people who walked the earth.

Is living forever the greatest gift of the ultimate curse? This is the question that both the ALA notable book, Tuck Everlasting by Natalie Babbitt, and the movie based on the book raise. Lauren Kate’s newest book, Unforgiven, is the latest novel from her Fallen series that extends to a specific character’s background story, Cameron Briel, known by series fans as Cam. In the series, two main characters are reincarnated over centuries of time in different life situations meeting each other in specific ages in their lives to test the time and the limits of good and evil, (heaven and hell) to keep their true loves. Like many of the prior novels, each chapter usually bounces back and forth between the two primary characters of the book, in this case -- between Cam’s point of view and Lilith’s point of view. Unforgiven is a well-developed story that gives you, at least, an understanding of his backstory and how it makes him into
When you associate words like shameless with everyday life you don’t think of it being a television show, one may think of shameless as a negative adjective used to describe a person showing a lack of shame, but it's a comedy/drama television show that really digs deep into real life scenarios and shows how a true dysfunctional family lives in the “hood” of Chicago. Shameless details how much leadership and mental stability Fiona Gallagher has to have in order to run a family of six in her early twenties.

The emphasis on death in Blade Runner can be attributed to many different reasons. One of these reasons includes the search for a solution to its inevitable arrival. The prime objective of the replicants in Blade Runner is to discover when they were created. To a human, this is common knowledge, but the replicants are not given this information freely. Although, in contrast to the human knowledge of when they were incepted or born, the replicants know the ultimate length of their life. After Roy finally meets Tyrell, he is asked, “What seems to be the problem?” Roy answers, predictably, “death.” Why is death such a problem to the replicants? The replicants do not actually have a problem with death; they have a problem with the brevity of their life. This is why the replicants hope that their creator, the person that gave them the time limit on their life, can extend it. This is similar to the hope held by most humans of a life after death, but because the replicants know that there is no such life for them after death,
