Friends is a hit television (tv) show, and has been since 1994 when it first came out. The television show follows the lives of six friends throughout the course of 10 years. Friends is a good tv show despite some people’s opinions. The show was at the top of the charts for the years that it ran, and even more after that. The theme song itself was number 1 for 8 weeks, and after that was still within the top numbers (Billboard Staff, 2015). Even though the show is aimed for a mature audience, it captures the qualities a hit tv show needs. Friends is a good tv show due to the fact that it is a comedy, includes lots of plot twists, and follows one basic storyline.

Perhaps many people already know what a comic looks like. Many may refer to it simply as a strip of boxes with basic illustration and simple words pasted together. In “Show and Tell”, Scott McCloud gives his readers a sense of how comics are composed. He states the two main things that a reader sees on the outside of comics are the illustration and literature parts. Although many people may consider comics as a simple work of slapping words and pictures together, he believes that comics are more complex than just that. A form of communication that can be compared to comics, not directly stated in “Show and Tell”, is the art of public and private speaking. The skills required for effective speaking include a balance between body gestures

About three years ago, when my sister suggested that I begin watching Gilmore Girls, I immediately said yes. Having heard nothing about the show other than its name, I was completely basing my decision off how much I have enjoyed other shows that my sister has presented to me. Growing up with a sister eleven years older than me, I feel that I belong in her generation more than with my own. When most of her favorite shows were on air, I was too young to care or be interested in watching. However, thanks to the world we live in and the technology it provides, shows such as Full House, 7th Heaven, The OC, and Gossip Girl have not just become her shows but mine as well. Gilmore Girls is something different, though. It is special.

Each episode of this series uses a formulaic plotline, which created a consistent atmosphere, devoid of any true change or surprises.
