To help with keeping track of what was being eaten, it was advised to use a diary. Diaries allow researchers to ensure that a proper record of any thoughts and helps to develop a reflexive stance (Miles et al: 2013). Bryman argues that when sequencing behaviour, as in keeping note taking of food consumption, diaries are more likely to perform better than interviews or questionnaires, this is because once any food is eaten, it was taken note of straight away, this eradicating any chance of human error by any forgetting important details as a result making the research valid and reliable, however, there are limitations to diaries, as Bryman notes that diaries can suffer from a process of attrition, individuals may decide that the task itself is tedious (Bryman, A. 2008: 228). What is more, there can be failure to record details as a result affecting the results of the research.

This paper addresses my personal food intake for the past three days. Next I will compare my food choices with my WileyPlus profile and determine whether I am maintaining healthy eating habits. For my analysis, I choose to track april seventh through april ninth. There was no particular reason why I picked these days over others, and on a whole they were relatively normal. However, it was at almost the end of spring break, and as I spent it with friends I found myself eating slightly unhealthier than usual. Using SuperTracker.gov, I set my calorie limit as a flexible 1,600 calorie intake that is recommended for a seventeen year old standing at five feet three inches, and weighing around a hundred and twenty pounds. My activity levels vary with my schedule, but on the whole I try to keep a steady exercise routine every few days. Counting calories is new for me, and as I tracked my calorie intake throughout those three days, I

From logging my food on myfitnesspal for five consecutive days, I have concluded heaps of information about not only my eating and lifestyle habits, but also the habits of our society. During the time period that I have logged my food for each meal, I have been very busy. Something that I concluded from this process though, is that the days that I was less busy I ate much healthier than the days that I was overly busy. I do think that it is extremely important to understand what exactly you are putting in your body and how this affects your body. By logging my food, I had the opportunity to really learn and understand these things. Collecting this data really affects health and medicine for many reasons. For instance, it seemed like the days that I ate a little bit healthier or exercised, not only was my health was better but I felt better. The days that I did not eat healthy whatsoever my attitude tended to be more negative. Since we have been learning about nutrition in class, our task was to record a food log. Nutrition requires a well-balanced diet containing nutrient and vitamins like amino acids and fatty acids. Over the past seven days I have been recording and have been looking very carefully at my intake of nutrients, minerals, vitamins, and fats. In our task, the objective was to record the basic foods we ate during the period of seven, but it did not require recording every single detail or our intake of food. Doing this food log was a pain and it was disturbing because I never wrote about what I ate like breakfast, lunch, dinner, or additional meals. I found this food log useful because it helped me learn what I
I noticed a few drawbacks with the weighed food record, namely the inconvenience and integrity associated with such a task. Weighing every single item of food eaten was time consuming and inconvenient especially when eating out or at a family and friends house. It felt uncomfortable in a public place or impolite when invited to dinner, and therefore I avoided weighing foods in these situations. For this reason, I consciously made an effort to eat at home or pre-prepare meals when possible, throughout undergoing the task. I also subconsciously found myself making healthier meals, instead of choosing to eat out, as well as reducing my portion sizes, as realised the volume I was eating upon weighing. Additionally, it was also noted that it was very easy to forget to write down foods, despite using the ‘My Diet Diary’ application. This often led to me estimating how much I had consumed.
We can conclude that there are two ways of losing weight, and it is up to each individual to follow one or another. Everyone is responsible for its own health, and sometimes we won’t feel able to wait, so we will try to find the easy way to lose weight, that will definitely not be the best

Food choice, like an other behaviour, is influenced by several interrelated factors. While hunger seems to drive our ways of food consumption, there are things outside of our own bodies that influence our food choices and the way in which we eat. The way we eat is controlled by and is a reflection of our society and cultures. I explore this idea through a food diary I created over a few weeks and the observations made by several anthropologists that I have studied.
