Born in New York City on September 28, 1901 Ed Sullivan became the host of the well-liked and popular long-running TV variety show “The Ed Sullivan Show”. This comedian also managed to undermine my belief that the U.S. experienced a substantial cultural progress and that even if some discrimination remains, it will inevitably decline since popular culture will no longer demonize transgender people.
