Ugly Love-Griffin Peterson-This song relates to the book because not only do they both have the same title, but it explains the predicament that Tate and Miles are in. In the song Griffin sings, “You don't need this broken kind of love. I set the rules are you gonna stay? This is a game you might not want to play.” Ever since they first made their arrangement, Miles had been afraid of hurting Tate. That’s when he created the rule “Don’t ask about the past, never expect a future” Also in the song the artist sings, “I've been waiting for you to come and pull me back down, all the weight of the truth is taking me to the ground.” In the end of the book when Miles is finally confessing his love to Tate he says, “She was either going to be the death of me…or she was going to be the one to bring me back to life.” Miles knew that Tate was going to be the one to relieve him of the weight he’s been carrying around for 6 years. …show more content…

They did not know what they were getting themselves into and were scared of what would happen to them but they went ahead and followed through with their plan anyways. This is put across when the author writes from Tate’s point of view, “I’m not positive, but I’m pretty sure the expression I just saw on his face was fear. I just wished I knew what he was scared of, because Lord knows I know exactly what I’m afraid of. I’m afraid of how this is going to end.” Later on in the song Sia sings, “Tell her on how you feel, give her every say she needs to hear, give your heart, and say ‘come take it’ and she will see you're a good man.” This relates to Miles because he has feelings for Tate but won’t say so. But if he did, Tate would love him back and stop hating him because she thinks that Miles cannot love
