An Immigrant is a person who has citizenship in one country but who enters a different country to set up a permanent residence. Just entering another country does not make you an immigrant. In order to be an immigrant you must have citizenship in one country, and you must have gone to a different country with the specific intention of living there.
This project argues that due to certain circumstances affecting the security of the UK, the implementation of the immigration act in recent years has caused many immigrants to leave the country or face difficulties residing in the UK.
The main argument supported in this view is events that have taken place in the past such as, post 2001, 9/11 terrorist attacks, the 2005 7/7 terrorist attacks also …show more content…

The impact of extremism is a current topic everywhere; I have looked at polls regarding the public’s opinion on extremism in relation with immigration. Above I did mention immigrants marrying British citizens for their stay in the UK; therefore, I have produced statistics in relation with this. In addition, I have used news reports just to enhance my argument. Alongside this, I have used qualitative data and have read various primary resources such as original pieces of writing of the government’s legislations regarding immigration and reports from the Home Office for example, Sham Marriages and Civil Partnerships. Furthermore, I have read secondary resources such as newspaper articles, books, journals and reporting is from various journalists. The case studies I have used are reports of real life Tribunal cases and of Abu Qatada’s deportation, British men who become jihadists face deportation using news reports; that the Court of Appeal has dismissed a legal challenge to Home Office rules for UK citizens who want their overseas spouses to live with them in Britain that is affecting more than 3,600 families and also Sham Marriages within the UK. These case studies are very beneficial to my argument in this research. The benefits of using the qualitative research methods are that they provide depth and detail; the research framework and direction can be quickly revised as new information emerges. The data is based on human experience that is obtained is powerful and sometimes more compelling than quantitative data. To add, the disadvantages of using this type of method altogether, it is not a research method that conveniently allows for the collection of statistical data.
