The Rainbow Six series has been the hallmark of tactical shooters, planting players in the shoes of counter-terrorist operatives using weapons and tactics inspired from Tom Clancy's titular novel. The series could be considered the anti-Call Of Duty due to its focus on teamwork and utilizing the games advanced weaponry and gadgetry. Siege mixes in the teamwork mechanics of Counter-Strike along with the familiar gameplay formulas of today's shooters into a unique package not found in any other shooter available this generation.

Tom Bissell, in his essay, “Extra Lives: Why Video Games Matter” has described video games and how they are unique and different from movies, books, or even interactive films. Bissell says “I came to accept that games were incompetent with almost every aspect of what I would call traditional narrative.” This is showing the readers that even though there is a plot and story line, as characters can control and alter the story line or outcome by what you do or see throughout the game.

Then one of the men takes control and tries to get them away from the cops. Two of the men get shot and the third guy runs away into the blizzard. From here the player takes off on the busy streets of Los Angeles and the video game continues. The amazing views pass the driver by as he is speeding through the illuminating streets of downtown LA. The crowds on the street, the clouds in the sky, and the skyscrapers look so real and lifelike. By creating this intrigue it immerses the player directly into the gaming experience. The game I have chosen for my critical analysis is Red Dead Redemption. Red Dead Redemption was made, published, and engineered by a company called Rockstar Games (Rockstar Website). Blood Red Road by Moira Young is a stellar book! I absolutely enjoyed reading it and I discovered that it is a series and devastatingly enough I am officially hooked. Blood Red Road is captivating, full of anticipation, and relatable. It is about an 18 year old girl named Saba, who tries to rescue her twin brother Lugh.

What is the most frightening thing in this world? It is the responsibility that is bestowed upon someone. This type of fear (responsibility) can hinder the ability to think, act, and speak for oneself. It incapacitates the individual in any scenario ranging from speaking at a conference to hmm -- a zombie apocalypse.

Focusing on the how of violence, is an article in which the author talks about what makes the violence in one game more meaningful than the other. He brings up two different most talked-about action games, BioShock Infinite and the Last of us and compares them both. Bioshock infinite tells stories of a man and young woman fighting through dangerous territory, killing dozens of nameless bad guys, while The Last of Us, tells a story about post-apocalyptic zombie survival game, which was more grisly and direct compare to Bioshock. He wonders why the violence of Bioshock Infinite made him feel gratuitous and not transformative or powerful. Nathan Drake, the main character of the modern video game, Uncharted 4: A Theif's End, is known as a treasure hunter. In the fourth edition of the Uncharted series Nathan misses his old life, which now is 15 years in the past, and wants to get back in the swing of things. In this game he is searching for a pirate's, Henery Avery's, treasure. Throughout the game he comes into encounters and circumstances where he is trying to save people or save himself. Two big enemies are Nadine Ross and Rafe Adler, both working for the enemy team looking for this treasure called Shoreline.

The game seeks to trick us for a time into abandoning what is real (home) and focus on what is inside our monitors and T.V.s. New details about Dishonored 2 have been revealed thanks to a developer diary video that Bethesda released. Harvey Smith, the games’ creative director was featured in the video and therefore shared insight on the aged Corvo we observed in this game. “We just had to be Corvo again because we’re so nostalgic about the character.” Smith goes on to say, “First of all, we really wanted to see what Corvo felt like with a voice.
