The first organization I joined was Sigma Psi Omega. I was Social co-chair during 2014-2015. In this role I helped the chair take minutes and roll for the committee in which we plan events such as the Full Moon Fever Dance. I then became Historian 2015-2016. In this role I take pictures and write down what we are currently doing for next generations to see. The second organization I joined is Student Government Association. I first started out as a Senator but was quickly inducted as Secretary in Spring 2014 during my first semester in Student Government and continued to be Secretary through Spring 2015. Then I became President 2015-2016. I have loved every second of it, and feel that I have made an impact on Student Government here at USAO. We are updating the constitution this year. We went to two conferences in the fall and will host a conference here at the university. We are also working on what we can for the people who view the legislation and make the decisions to take us more seriously. I have also attended Haven the whole time I have been at USAO as well, and just started craft crafting club towards the end of 2015. …show more content…
The sorority is a volunteer based organization so most of the volunteering I do is with them, although I have done a couple of things on my own. We worked a lot of salvation army this past year. I helped salvation army fill goody bags for the neewollah parade. I also helped salvation army interview people to see if the families were eligible to receive Christmas presents for their kids for the 2015 Christmas. On my own, I helped salvation army give out the gifts to the people who were eligible. I recently volunteered to sit on a panel and discuss questions high schoolers had about
I have been in a few school activities. One of the main activities that I have been involved in is Color guard. Since my sophomore year, I have been on the guard and participating in all of the competitions with the band. It is a great way to get involved, make new friends, and create new experiences. I am also in my school’s National Honor Society which is an organization that consists of the top academic scholars. We do volunteer work and do activities that display integrity. We have done blood drives as well as packaged food for Kids Against Hunger. That is another organization that people can do to help package food for children across seas that don’t have any source of nourishment. I am an active thespian which is a group of sorts that is dedicated to the fine arts. I have been one since my freshmen year and have been either stage manager or assistant stage manager for two plays and three musicals. My junior year as well as this year I was involved in National
Among the organizations and clubs at Joliet Junior College, the Natural Sciences Club and JJC's Honors Program are the ones that I am involved in. For the Natural Sciences Club, I participate by attending meetings and going on scientific field trips with the club. My participation with JJC's Honors Program is mostly through attending the program's forums. Outside of school, I help out at my local Assemblies of God church in Joliet. Currently, I am volunteering as an assistant choreographer to a dance crew from Joliet First Assembly's youth group.
The only extracurricular activity I am a part of as of now, is Key club. I am an active member and commit approximately 20 hours of community service a semester. In Middle School I was a part of NJHS, Student Congress, and WEB (middle school equivalent to Link Crew). Within the next year, I plan on joining NHS as well as Link Crew.
I am in a MYAC, which stands for Mayors Youth Advisory Council, and we make service projects, for example, a coat driver for a village that needs more warm clothes for the winter, or a food drive for Thanksgiving and Christmas. I am involved in student council, cheerleader, and I also play the flute in the symphonic band. My mother is in charge of an abundance of health fairs, which gives me the opportunity to help my mom set up and also talk at the workshops; furthermore, she is also in charge of Circus Camp, which I work at during the summer for 2 weeks, and it is really fun teaching kids about being healthy and learning circus
Samaraim Jaimes has been volunteering for the past two weeks with Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society. She has completed a total of 16 hours (8 hours each week). She helps out with whatever is needed to get done for the club/organization. Some of the tasks that she has helped with are: cleaning and organizing the closet where we keep all of our belongings, filing papers, answering emails, and promoting the organization by posting posters around campus and passing flyers to students.
I’m involved in Pet Club, National Honors Society, Medical Club, Interact Club, 4H, I swim and last year, I was on the golf team. One thing I love the most in this world, is 4H. I was president of my club for two years, vice president before that and secretary and historian; so I’ve held office five out of the six years since I been in my club.
During my Junior year at Colfax High School, I was recruited into a new program called Link Crew which is a freshman transition program that welcomes incoming freshmen and makes them feel comfortable and supported throughout the first year of high school. This program was not only a club but also a class called Wings in which we would precisely plan Academic Follow Up's (AFU) for the freshmen, and organize events such as a Haunted House and a Blood Drive for the whole school. Also during my Junior year, I joined the Leo's Club which is a student run club that's purpose is to perform service projects within our school and community. I was able to become a certified volunteer of Colfax and Meadow Vista once I had not only met, but exceeded the minimum of 35 hours of volunteer work. Outside of school, I became interested in snowboarding which allowed me to get a seasonal job at a Ski
My junior year of high school I had decided that I would get more involved in school activities. I had been a member of both HOSA, a medical club that focuses on competitions and INTERACT, a club that embraces different cultures and people as well as focusing on helping out the community. I became deeply invested and passionate in both of these clubs. I decided I no longer wanted to be just a member. I wanted to have a say in the decision process and events for the following year so I ran for officer elections in both.
I participate in both African Student Organization Club and Health Occupations of America. I enjoy being part of the African Student Organization because it allows me to take pride in my heritage while also becoming educated in my culture. I have been able to meet more people who share the same ancestry and culture as me while teaching others who would like to become more cultured. The club is also great with volunteering so I'm also able to help my community and share my knowledge with them as well. I joined Health Occupations Students of America my junior year of high school, and I am extremely proud of that decision. I have always been interested in the medical field and while in high school, I chose to focus on that passion, and in the
Within the collage I have had the opportunity to represent the school as Junior School Captain and Class leader. I have also been lucky enough to be involved in the Student Ambassador and Peer Support program, working closely with many other leaders within the school. The most relevant position I have held is Gwynton house leader this year. I have learnt so much from this position by assisting and learning from our current leaders Josh and Laura and also by taking charge in some situations and leading the group
It was not until after I became an initiated sister to Delta Zeta that I truly got involved. One night during Chapter our President at the time started to discuss all the different positions that were available for the upcoming year. While listening to this list one position in particular caught my eye, it was a position to be the sisterhood chair, which includes planning enjoyable events that all the sisters want to be apart in. I love creating, planning, and organizing so sisterhood chair was the right position for me. During my time in this position I planned a cook out, a trip to the haunted corn maze, sisterhood retreat, and much more. This year I applied to be our Chapters VP of Programs with in this position I make our calendar for the
Sorority girls aren’t all about the parties, the pictures and how good we look. Each sorority has its own values they follow. We all believe in sisterhood, philanthropies, social networking, community services, and opportunities. In philanthropies, we spend time sharing awareness and raising money for a good cause. Doing community service is voluntary work to help out our community.
I have been involved with in our school and our community. In our school I was nominated for head of Prom committee this year. This position is quite stressful but I would not have it any other way. I enjoy being able to help and put my mark on it for our school. I brainstorm for fundraisers, activities, and small jobs our class can do to raise money. I also get to choose our revenue, theme for prom, and decorations. I do all of this within out tight budget. I
I've always loved performing. There is something about becoming a completely different person that has always intrigued me. That's why I became a member of the West Haven High School Theatre Workshop. My love of performing along with my interest in government led me to join the mock trial team at the end of my sophomore year. I've always been a huge women's right supporter and because of that I joined the Girl Up club my sophomore year and became president my junior year. I have also participated in the UNH Charging Ahead Program. I am a member of class council and national honor
In addition to focusing on my studies full-time, I’ am also involved in a number of campus and community activities. I’am involved in the Ambassador Program one of the organizations at my school, I’am volunteered at a local church helping young people, and I’am a member of Honor’s Society of Nursing Sigma Theta Tau International.
