For this unit we have been looking at communication is all its vast ways. We have been studying the environmental factors and barriers that can occur in health and social care settings. For this task I have been asked to explain those factors that influence communication and interpersonal interactions in health and social care environments and to also look at the negative barriers to communication. These are all factors that increases the effectiveness of the session, keeping it therapeutic of course. Balancing time is key, and if this is done correctly, this will be a positive factor. When dealing with children in a nursery, teachers need to keep accurate pace of time with the amount of activities done in the day. Children loose interest very quickly and are easily influenced by other peers, so its very easy for one child to break the circle of concentration. Making short, captivating activities that are both educational and fun are the most effective ways of keeping children busy. These need to be controlled by time, because if they are being taught for too long, they will loose interest. This is a negative factor. Seating In a nursery, children come together for activities and sit with each other on tables to do colouring or work, etc. If the seating is too far apart, communication will not be effective as the children won't be able to hear what the teachers are saying. They may also not be able to hear themselves talking to each other. group work would be almost impossible being so far away. This is partly to with the control the teachers have over the children, but seating placement is key, and needs to be organised correctly. This is a negative factor.
