Unit 18 There are many things that people can do to contribute to providing a positive experience for users of health care services. The health care professional I will talk about and talk about how they can contribute to providing a positive experience is a health care worker. There are many things that a health care worker can do to provide a positive experience for the service user including; Respect the privacy of a service user: this could involve pulling the curtain around the individual whilst they are getting changed or putting a towel on them if/when they are having a bed bath. This will help the service user to feel that they have been respected and valued by the service provider. Be confidential: if the service provider …show more content…
Be able to make people feel comfortable: the need to be able to make the service feel comfortable so that the service user does not feel anxious or worried. Many people will come into a health care setting feeling uptight and worried because they might not know what is going to happen, so if the service provider can make them feel comfortable then it will have a very positive effect on the service user. Be organised: the service provider needs to be organised because is the service user needs to be seen by others and not just that particular service provider, then being organised means that the service user will be seen by other people on time (which is very important). If they are not organised and the service user needs to be seen by other service providers then there will be delays for the service user, meaning they won’t be getting the help they are entitled to. It may also make the service user feel angry and worried because they see the service provider not being organised and may be worried about trusting their health with them. There are certain requirements that a health care worker needs to be part of the workforce and work in a health and social care setting, these include; qualifications – the service user must have the correct qualifications in order to become a health care professional. These qualifications are important in providing a positive experience for the service user because it means that the service provider has
In this essay I will be analysing the communication and interpersonal interaction that took place in various sectors such one to one interaction, group interaction and how effective these skills and other elements in the health and social care setting such as the environment was being demonstrated.
Every nurse should have professional values in order to guide their practice in delivering the best possible care. Providing care to service users should be their first concern and it should be of a high
Some health care professional who are not committed to the care value base may treat service users unfairly. For example, a care worker that is not demonstrating the role of empathy may not want to listen or respect the ideals of the service users because the care worker is not in their position and do not see things from service users point of view. It is important for health care professionals to be committed and being honest with themselves in order to make sure that they are providing equal care to their service users. Careful use of language
My responsibility as a care worker is to be aware of the various policies and legislations that will facilitate good practice when supporting my clients to access services and facilities. I am also expected to monitor and evaluate the service provided to ensure it is meeting the needs of the client.
M1- Discuss how policies and procedures help children, young people and their families whilst the child is being looked after.
There are many things which can affect access to complementary therapies. The ones I will be explaining are:
A health service is a service that provides care and is under the NHS. For examples hospitals or a G.P. They provide treatments but also prevent illnesses through health promotions. A social care service is about providing support to individuals to help them get by and who ever needs it such as emotional support or practical support with daily living tasks.
Reporting of Injuries,Diseases and dangerous occurrences regulations of 1995 requires the reporting of work-related accidents, diseases and dangerous occurrences. The Act applies to all work related activities, but not to all work related incidents. The objective of the regulations is to enable the enforcing authorities to identify where and how risks arise and to investigate serious accidents so as to prevent them from occurring in the future and thus providing a safer work environment. The enforcing authorities can then help and advise you on preventive action to reduce injury, ill health and accidental loss, the main points of our own policy that relate to this are:
Understand own responsibilities, and responsibilities of others, relting to health and safety in the work setting.
No Secrets – Guidance published by the Department of Health, builds upon the governments respects for human rights and highlights the need to protect vulnerable adults through effective multi-agency work.
Therefore every care practitioner should endeavour to promote theses rights when dealing with services users and their relatives. Furthermore, it is crucial for service users to understand that any information they give will be with strict confidentiality. It is a legal requirement for health and social care services to keep personal data confidential.
To understand workplace positivity it is essential to recognize that customer service along with job satisfaction will result in pride. Healthcare is a service that customers pay for. Therefore they deserve great customer service, especially when it comes to health. Focusing on service can help the job feel more rewarding and even provide or renew a sense of pride in
Working in health and social care staff care for others and they should expect to be cared for at work. A good manager can create a workforce community culture where talented staff are valued and retained. A positive culture within a team promotes a positive outcome for the service users.
Service improvement is arguably one of the most important challenges facing the National Health Service (NHS) today, as both patients and service users search for a ‘good quality’ service, and expect services to be both efficient and effectual. All staff within the health service need to be educated and competent in their roles, in order to be able to offer a service that is beneficial to the patients that make use of it.
Communication between professions and service users help minimise abuse, as written and oral communications reduce abuse it helps improve the bond between the service user and the care worker. Reports made should be kept and information from service users should be dealt with in confidence, because if the information of the service user is under covered it could mean that they will be facing abuse. For example; if the service user is receiving abuse from a person but they are hearing impaired and can only communicate using sign language, then it will be best if the care worker knew how to talk in sign language as the service user may only feel
