Unit 2 Dog Case Study

There are many different types of dog collars available for all dogs of all sizes. Not every collar is appropriate for every function and activities. Dog owners should take the responsibility to examine the different types before choosing and buying a collar for their dog.

Furthermore there is a lot to learn from service animals, starting from the history of how it started to what the cost of owning and training a service animal. To the laws behind being able to own a service dog, and where dogs are allowed and how much training a dog needs in order to be able to be certified. Also what the requirements are to be able to own one, and the associations that offer seeing eye dogs for free to be able to help out those who are in need of a seeing eye dog.

K9 Unit obtains their 16 dogs from Roodeplaat Training and Breeding Centre. The dogs are not registered. The dogs are taken regularly for medical check-ups as well as x-rays. The dogs are bred and trained there for the specific tasks they have to perform.
