1.1 Each employee's has a role and responsibility in the prevention and control of infection. they must conduct themselves in a healthy and appropriate manner applying good hygiene in everything they do, whether it be ensuring they wear personal protective equipment (PPE), good food hygiene, cleaning up after themselves or supporting an individual take medication. 1.2 Employers also have a responsibility to their staff, clients and other people who come in to contact with their services. employers need to ensure that staff are trained in how to prevent and control infection, have the equipment needed such as PPE and cleaning products as well as to check that employees are applying themselves in an appropriate manner, finding any areas…show more content…

PPE in a social care setting is used for the purpose it is intended and then thrown away to avoid any cross contamination 5.4 Current regulations set out by the health and safety executive are, 1) Every employer shall take all reasonable steps to ensure that any personal protective equipment provided to his employees by virtue of regulation 4 (1) is properly used. (2) Every employee shall use any personal protective equipment provided to them by virtue of these Regulations in accordance both with any training in the use of the personal protective equipment concerned which has been received by him and the instructions respecting that use which have been provided to him by virtue of regulation 9. (3) Every self-employed person shall make full and proper use of any personal protective equipment provided to him by virtue of regulation 4(2). (4) Every employee and self-employed person who has been provided with personal protective equipment by virtue of regulation 4 shall take all reasonable steps to ensure that it is returned to the accommodation provided for it after use 5.5 The employees are responsible for wearing PPE provided and disposing of it in an appropriate manner. in our company the employees are also responsible for re-ordering
