The formula to calculate your body mass index is BMI (kg/m2) = weight (kg) / height (m)2. Currently I am 5'1 and 180 pounds. To achieve my weight in kilograms we divide 180 by 2.2. This equals to 81.82. To convert my height to meters I divide my height in inches by 39.37. This equals to 1.55. Therefore, 81.82/(1.55 x 1.55) is 34.0. My body mass index is 34.0. I am considered obese. To be at a healthy weight I would have to be about 150 pounds or less. I need to lose at least 30 pounds. I will do this by exercising, eating healthier, and living a better lifestyle.
