Psychological contract is an organizational-individual contract that is not spoken of and is unwritten but is understood that the violation of this contract may create conflict within the organization. As TCI’s president, the organizational structure was established from the beginning and each team member bought into it. Each member’s expectations were fulfilled as the team became stronger and stronger as the week progressed. Each person was accountable for his/her actions and trusted one another, as the unwritten psychological contract was never violated, allowing our team to succeed throughout the week. Mending the communication systems in the individual and team levels is crucial to averting escalation of conflicts (McLaughlin, Pearce, & Trenoweth, 2013). Furthermore, an active, two-way communication rhythm is essential to building trust-worthy relationships, avoiding and resolving conflicts, and cultivating a sense of teamwork. In the case, when both teams decided that they are willing to actively listen and take note of each other’s apprehensions, the floodgates to therapeutic communication were opened, which facilitated for a respectful and productive exchange of ideas. According to Yoder-Wise (2011), “trust is the basis by which leaders/managers facilitate the activities and the progress of the team” (p. 357). Effective communication and mutual trust also generate a better working environment, which successively result in staff retention and satisfaction. The psychological contract that I conclude to exist between the company, SAS and its employees is trust in regards to “creating a great work environment” and “employee commitment.” The employees are expecting the company to continue its efforts in creating an environment that fosters a phenomenal work/life balance in exchange to produce quality work. The excess hours spent at work would normally be spent with family or as a time of relaxation, so being in an environment where you are home away from home is a necessity that impacts directly on customer service. For an example, the study published in the Harvard Business Review article, “The Employee-Customer Profit Chain at Sears” proved that an increase in employee satisfaction resulted in customer satisfaction, which resulted in higher profits. (The Psychological Contract and Commitment 3). A good relationship between employees and their working environment has a definite success rate for better service. The psychological contract of earning its employee’s commitment is an unwritten understanding that takes SAS to new heights. The company continues to reward their work with unbelievable benefits, in order to keep their lives outside of working hours and family living significant.
A personally identified violation of a psychological contract is one of a negatively emotional occurrence. The contract breach has caused me feelings of anger and stress and I feel very deceived. What is mindset? Mindset to me means, the set of attitudes established by someone. When I hear growth mind set, it become apparent to me that growth mindset starts at a young age. I for one think that when you start learning at a young age, all the information that you take in from learning will be in your mind. When you do this you can become smarter and smarter over time. The next topic is fixed mindset. When I hear the topic fixed mindset, my mind agrees that fixed mindset is your mind is fixed. When you have a fixed mindset you will try not to learn new objects. Usually a person with a fixed mindset will not try exploring different subjects, apart than learning the same thing over and over.

Freud introduced us to unconscious motivations and how they determine our behavior. The study of the unconscious mind became a base and paved the way for other therapists. There is no empirical research to support his psychodynamic model, although the theory does explain reasons for irregularities in development.
