Irony is used by many authors to give more meaning to what is occurring in their story. In the book, Death of a Salesman, by Arthur Miller, he uses irony throughout the book to give the reader a deeper meaning to what is happening in the story. Willy Loman’s son, Happy, doesn’t actually feel happy throughout the book. At their house, Happy and his brother, Biff, are in their bedroom talking about their lives.
