Abortion is a controversial topic and it is viewed differently among groups, organizations, and individuals. Abortion has continuously been observed by diverse principles, beliefs, moral wisdom, right or wrong, or personal feelings, and religion. Utilitarianism in abortion is giving the women the right to choose, and based on those actions; will it affect others for the greater good (“the greatest happiness for the greatest number”). This essay will be captivating the risk of espousing Utilitarianism on the topic of abortion and how free will and uninfluenced will, will affect the greater population. The question of free will in aborting a fetus becomes another focal point. If this woman uses the utilitarianism argument, then because of she thinks that she may be financially, emotionally, mentally, or physically unstable or that the child is wrongfully or illegally conceived and to her it would be wrong to bring the child into the world, then they are other points to considered. It has been proven that child can become successful despite growing in the most unstable situations. Aborting a fetus deprives it of life and the ability to enjoy its future liberty and the pursuit of happiness. The fetus has no way to defend. I affirm believer in Adoption. Many families today struggle with the ordeal of infertility, they would do almost anything to have a baby and would love to be able to adopt an unwanted baby, as of 2002 there were approximately 2.6 million women or 14% of American women waiting to adopt children, only just over 1% managed to complete an adoption.
