My experiments purpose was to examine the growth of plants under the UV (ultraviolet) light. I chose this experiment because I like plants and more of our earth is becoming damaged because of different kinds of radiation. My hypothesis is that it doesn’t stop the growth but makes it go slower. First, I had to determine how many seconds I was going to have the UV light over the plants. I tested over different lengths of time.
Using my own pure soil from my backyard to do the experiment. Watering them with one-fourth cup of water every day at a precise them. Measuring their growth using millimeters.
Resulting in Uv Radiation does affect the growth of plants, but not too much.

It is also a non-aggressive, strong grower, provides nutrients back to the soil, forms an erosion soil basis for solidity, highly consumable, and has beautiful color. (Stricker-Chapman, n.d.)UV light has a major role in our environment and to things in our environment. The plants get light from the sun, so the plants that absorb water from the sun should grow faster and have lots more nutrients than the others. The plants can also have too much in there and kill them. Since the Water will directly be put into the roots and will kill them also. The UV light will stop the plants from growing. The six pots that are named by numbers...etc.1,2,3,4,5,6 are filled with soil
3. Each plant pot will get amount of seeds, and the same amount of water
4. The first group (1,2) will be not be revealed to the radiation. The second group (3,4) will be revealed to 1 second of radiation. The third group (5,6) will be revealed to 10s of radiation. The fourth group will be exposed to 100s of radiation.
5. Water each daily and record the data for 8 days.

Discussion
UV Radiation on plants does not destroy them but helps them grow. Too much of the ultraviolet light will delay the growth of the plants. The plants that had UV (ultraviolet) Light will have a short growth span than the plants with regular and sun radiated water.
This project is to determine how different types of radiated water affect our plants. This project indicates why our earth looks so nasty and dull because no one cares and just throw out stuff and where they please, and it is affecting our plants. With me displaying this it is letting others know what affects it and what kinds of damage it does to our

In this experiment we are testing the effect of fertilizer on the speed of plant growth. We prepared a 4 quad cell, 1 control group and 3 experimental groups. So, we had one with no fertilizer, one with three seeds of fertilizer, one with six seeds of fertilizer, and lastly, one with nine seeds of fertilizer. The plants that we grew were called Wisconsin Fast Plants, members of the crucifer family. These plants are small and easy to grow, but for optimal growth they require continuous fertilizer, water, fluorescent light, and temperature between 18 degrees Celsius and 26 degrees Celsius 24 hours a day. Fertilizers are substances that are put into soils to increase the growth of the plant. There are two different types of fertilizers, synthetic
The growth and survival of a plant depends on the reactions that occur internally called photosynthesis. Photosynthesis is a reaction that captures the sun’s energy and converts it, water, and carbon dioxide into glucose, with a byproduct of oxygen. Glucose is a sugar that provides energy to allow for a plant to grow and live. This experiment is to test how photosynthesis can be sped up with a home solution. The variable being changed in this experiment is the solution that the plant is being given. In this instance, some of the plants will be given Gatorade, rather than water. The question being asked is, How well will a solution found in the home affect plant growth?
"Electromagnetic Radiation." )(7) In this experiment electromagnetic rays from a microwave will be used to determine if this type of radiation affects the germination of radish
Two treatment groups were covered with a screen in order to reduce light intensity. Both groups were kept under a controlled light source for fourteen days and plant counts were taken at regular intervals.
Plants can absorb a number of different length light waves, although not all of them are equal in power or energy which influences a plants growth. Approximately 80% of light that reaches a leaf is absorbed and depending on its wavelength, may excite chlorophyll pigments (reference text book). Plants absorb both red and purple light waves, however because purple wavelengths are shorter, they contain more energy.
It is hypothesised that the dicots (dwarf beans) will have a faster growth rate then the wheat. The aim is compare the growth and germination rates between the monocots and dicots. It has been found and clearly visualised so far that the beans are germinating faster. It also clearly visualises that the wheat seeds are continuously no make much progress. During the experiment currently many changes had have to been made. One example of the change made was adjusting to more or less water due to a public holiday on the 19th of October. Throughout this experiment the days the plants were watered on were Mondays and Fridays. Each time when watering the plant, the measurements, such as height, length and so on were observed and recorded into a
In this experiment, I tested the theory of how light would affect the growth of a bean plant. According to gardenguides.com, lack of light is detrimental to plant growth.”Plants that don't get enough light don't have the resources they require, and fail to bloom or fruit.” It is also stated that every plant will need a different strength of sunlight such as full sun, partial sun, or indirect sunlight (also known as full shade). Plants that receive inadequate amounts of sunlight will not thrive. The reasoning behind this is due to a process called Photosynthesis, stated in gardeningknowhow.com. Photosynthesis is a chemical process which converts energy in the form of light into a chemical energy which is a vital food source for plants to thrive.
Therefore, I was correct in my hypothesis that dark will have an effect on the germination of radish seeds. Also, I was very close in predicting that the seeds grown in the light will germinate twice as much as the seeds grown in the dark; the control seeds grew a little less than double the size of the experimental seeds. Ultimately, my experiment proved that light is a very important factor in the growth of any plant. However, I’ve learned that seeds grown in the dark will germinate, though slowly, as
Ultraviolet light is a type of electromagnetic radiation that energy will produced by the sun and solariums and will makes black-light posters glow. When we expose to too much of UV radiation, will cause our living tissue damage such as summer tans, sunburn, eye damage and premature ageing. But the main cause of UV radiation is skin cancer. In addition, we cannot see or feel the UV radiation which is like sun’s light or heat, we won’t notice the damage as our senses cannot detect the UV radiation. Main source of UV rays is sunlight, tanning lamps and beds. So, for those who always expose to the UV from these sources will have high risk to get skin cancer. UV rays still is the main cause of causing damaging on the skin although UV rays is made
The effects of light intensity and light wavelength on photosynthesis was observed in two different experiments and closer study of different pigments in spinach was observed. For the experiment where the effects of light was observed, it was found that a light intensity of 30 cm, wavelengths of blue and red lights show the greatest photosynthetic activity. The different pigments present is spinach were also observed and it was noted that though chlorophyll is the most abundant in plants, there are other pigments present as well.
Does different color light effect plant growth Without light, plants would die. The process by which plants live through the light is called photosynthesis. Photosynthesis takes place within a plant; cells called Chloroplasts gather and store energy from sunlight and converts it into sugar for the plant to use. While the effects of natural light on plant growth is known; filtering light different color filters effects the plant’s growth as well.
Introduction Uv radiation is damaging to the cells that are in our body. There are three types of UV radiation lengths; UV-A, UV-B and UV-C. UV-A and B can have the most damaging effects when it is exposed to soft tissue such as a person’s eyes and/or skin causing premature aging and possibly cancer (2). The use of sunscreen among other items are used to limit the exposure to the radiation. In this experiment wild type yeast was exposed to UV radiation in different time sequences.
The hypothesis that is looking to be proved, if a bean plant is exposed to eight hours of natural light per day, then it’s rate of growth will be higher than a bean plant exposed to eight hours of artificial sunlight per day.
