V for Vendetta’s themes of anarchy as a response to fascism is intended to be an extreme example of the true events transpiring in Britain at the time, but unlike Maus and Persepolis the people events never existed in the first place. The events as they happen in the book do not and cannot in any way reflect true events occurring in the United Kingdom on account of being set in a post-apocalyptic society, yet elements are drawn from real events are inserted to keep the novel thematically genuine to real life. V for Vendetta again utilizes techniques to force the reader into the mind of the subject . While at the time, support for homosexuals was extremely low, and nearly no political parties supported them, and political conservatives were in power in the western world, V for Vendetta was a cry of opposition against both of these popularly accepted phenomenon’s, and is relativity clear about its message to the critical eye. However, because the medium itself is perceived to be for children and not worth of critical attention, as a result, readers of the graphic novel do not use the graphic novel medium to learn, but rather to entertain. While during the first third of the story, the focus is mainly on narrative, and striking visuals, but once readers are already engaged with the narrative, the themes become more prominent. This change in the graphic novel is Allan Moore consciously using law art to call out to people just looking to be entertained, but by subverting the expectation of low art, Allan Moore is able to discuss themes that may originally be off-putting with an impressionable audience which may have never been forced to reconsider their preconceived notions of right and
