Topic : VI4 System Report

The VI4 system consists of three main components. They are the local rack, the stagebox and the control suface. The inputs of the local rack of the VI4 system consist of 3 analogue mic/line inputs, 16 analogue line inputs, 1 talkback mic input, 64 channel optical MADI in and 8 pairs of AES/EBU inputs.. The outputs of the local rack consists of 8 pairs of AES/EBU, 16 analogue line outputs, TB line output , LCR local monitor A analogue line outputs and LR local Monitor B analogue line outputs. The inputs and outputs of the stagebox consists of 48 analogue mic/line inputs and 24 analogue line inputs.

Now I shall describe the features of control surface. The control surface in the VI4 system has 24 faders that allow 48 mono inputs to be mixed simultaneously into 27 outputs by default with the use of 2 fixed layers. The input faders can be assigned to the 4 mute groups and/or 16 VCA masters. Input faders can be switched to control an individual Aux send mix or control all 24 Group/Matrix/Aux outputs by using the “Follow Solo” function that is switchable. And also the soundcraft FaderGlow will show when faders are not controlling inputs by utilizing colours. Furthermore the fader trays accommodate motorized faders to allow fader automation when changing scenes or memory recalls.. The outputs of the control surface compromises of 8 assignable Output faders, including exclusive LR and C Master faders plus 16 assignable rotary output
