Ever since a young age I have been exposed to the business world. My dad has been working in the automobile industry for 30 plus years, and he has exposed me to the world of business, providing me with valuable life lessons. The life lessons that come to mind are working hard and smart, dedication, going above and beyond, not settling for average, and teamwork. These life lessons I learned helped mold me into the person I am today. Furthermore, the life lessons influenced me to join various clubs and sports, which include: Future Business Leaders of America, Student Council, National Honor Society, Giving Organization for Iowa Teens (G.O.4.I.T), Football, and Baseball. Through these various groups I have learned valuable life skills that include:
During the summer, I worked at my aunt's coffee shop. I learned how to work with money and how to deal with customers. I also learned how to keep a business organized, keep inventory, follow step by step procedures, and keep records. Currently I am working as a soccer referee for children ages 3-9.In the summer of ninth grade, I took a course over the summer called waterbotics. In that class, I designed, built, programmed, and learn how to maneuver the robot in water. I had to come up with my own designs and rebuild, and reprogram the robots
Being an active member of Business Professionals of America for three years has opened new leadership opportunities for me. My involvement in community service projects and competitions has helped me in becoming a better person.
"A teacher affects eternity; he can never tell where his influence stops." As Henry Adams stated, and is the summary of the impervious bond between the characters Mitch and Morrie, in Tuesdays with Morrie. Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) often referred to as Lou Gehrig's disease is a form of motor neuron diseases. About one to two cases of ALS are diagnosed annually per 100,000 people in the US. (Lou) Sufferers will notice weakness in the hands and arms accompanied by wasting of the muscles (Motor). In the novel life lessons:two experts on death and dying teach us the mysteries of life and living. The novel talks about many lessons such as
During college I acquired leadership skills beyond running clubs. I continued to obtain experience by tutoring and mentoring students.
While reading the passage "The Greatest Lesson I Ever Learned" by Robert E Farrell, were introduced with an experience Robert recalls with his mom. Robert's mother wanted to purchase a pair of pink gloves. Due to Macy's department store, not being busy Robert's mom did not get the suitable service. There were two sales clerks that acknowledge the presence of the Robert's mom. Instead, they ignore paying attention when she cleared her throat. The two clerks continued to chat and ignore Robert’s mom. Eventually, Robert's mom begins to bang on the glass counter with keys almost breaking it.
The first interview I conducted was with my grandmother Arlyn DeBoer. She is over 65 and has been retired from teaching for nine years this fall. Although it was more of a discussion on life choices and marriage than an actual question and answer interview, it was very insightful. Our discussion took place in her home office on Saturday evening. The topics discussed were marriage and God.
Life Lesson/ Moral: I think that this story has way more than one moral hidden within the book, but if I had to choose I would definitely talk about how Thomas feels betrayed by Teresa but still trusts her all along because he knows that deep down inside she still loves him. This is all about sticking it through to the end and putting your faith into someone you trust even though you don’t know if it’s a good idea or not.
Throughout my life I have encountered numerous situations where I have learned important life lessons. While many of these lessons are cliche, each of them have truthfully made in impact on the way I live my life. Among all the lessons I have learned, seeing the positivity in everything is undoubtedly the most important to my life.
My experience in the business world all started my sophomore year in high school, when I had the idea to start my own company. One day I was helping my father pressure wash one of our rental homes. After finishing, I realized that it was a pretty simple task and maybe could
Throughout our life we will always meet many people that teach us major life lessons,
Business skills for life has taught me many important life skills. We have covered career planning skills such as making a resume or cover letter and completing a job interview. It has also taught me the value and importance of a budget and how to make one. Another life skill that we talked about was the different ways to save money. An important topic in society today that we covered was consumer credit since the accumulation of credit cards and credit card debt is becoming an epidemic in America. Lastly, we talked about retirement planning which is essential to anyone who plans to retire.
The first life lesson I had learnt from the speech of Dr Shah Rukh Khan is we should be bold in life. Life may not as easy as we think, there may be many difficulties. In order to overcome our diffculties and fears, we have to be brave when we deal with it. If we live in fear, everything will go wrong and we will not succeed. So, we should not let our fears become the obstacles that hinder our success, instead we should convert our fears and make it as our courage to step up for ourselves in order to become a better person. One of my fear is to talk or speak in front of people. There are many presentations to do for my assignments in college. I feel very nervous and sometimes I even forget what I supposed to say whenever I stand in front of my classmates. In order to overcome my fear in front of crowd, I tried to find out the source of my fear and tackle down my fear. I always be prepared before I present. Then I kept practicing in front of my friends and asking advices from my lecturer to improve my presentation skills so that I can present confidently in front of people. Although I have not overcome my fear completely, but now I can talk better in front of other people and not be as nervous as before.
All through life, we experience various occasions when decision-making become necessary. A number of them present themselves in difficult forms and at crucial points. Most of the verdict we take will eventually figure and describe our track of lives. These are what we refer to as lessons of life. Choices never present themselves in an easy way. In some instance we are always forced to pay a price to achieve something. This implies that we are trading for an outcome we are seeking.
As we all grow up we’re forced to make certain decisions that may be mistaken. It’s ok to make a mistake, but learning from it can be beneficial for us all. Looking back on my teenage years, I’ve made more mistakes, all due to the lack of attention, priorities and commitment. If I had only done what I was told to rather than what I wanted, I would’ve graduated High school the way I always desired to. However, I’m here to say I realized it was the biggest lesson I’ve learned thus far.
