The Value of College
There are many reasons of the value of college. Attending college to gained more knowledge or having better job opportunities in some case for people is the value of college. The value of a college means something different to others. Everyone has his or her own reason for going to college and some people go just for the social aspect of it. Becoming independent, making new friends. My view as a student is that have to work with my LD, get a liberal art degree and live a happy life.
I am here at Landmark College to use the tools that the school provide so I can work with my LD not avoid it. My parents forced me to go here because everyone in my family has obtained a college degree and I am the only one with an LD. Having a learning disability is difficult to understand. Some people think we are treated like VIPs because we get special benefits when it comes to education. According to Robert J. Steinberg, we are “legally entitled to take high-stakes standardized tests without time limits [in] enhanced environments.” Steinberg’s attitude is saying that having accommodation is a way of sliding bye through college. When I first arrived at Landmark I am undecided on my major. There are other people like me who have no what they want to be. Jessica Kleiman, a contributor for frobeswoman, “When I went to college in the 90s, you were allowed to enjoy the experience–it was about being part of something, soaking up life on campus, meeting new people, participating in extracurricular activities, and choosing to study something that excited and interested you.” I believe that this quote is saying back in the 90s you could do anything you now today you have even more choices.
