CHAP.2
In this chapter we are going to talk a lot about veganism and what they don't do. Another thing in this chapter you will find is the animal welfare act. I hope you learned a little something.
So you find that a lot of people that are apart of the animal rights group are vegans. Veganism is when a person like you or me does not use animal products or eat animal meat. So the people of the animal rights group usually say that no animal should be slaughtered for food or hunted. Now research shows that animals have a lot of the same sensations that humans have. They do not wear anything that has to do with animal skin. They also do not wear plant products and did you know that they wear special shows that are animal free. They also
To improve their articles support, the writers for Vegan Outreach should rely mainly on logos to back up their claim that animal consumption is morally wrong and that they should switch to a less cruel alternatives to source food. Although the authors do originally provide evidence throughout the text, their argument is poorly constructed. For example, in one case Vegan Outreach used a statistic without indicating from where they attained the statistic “...[b]y avoiding the meat of chickens, turkeys, and pigs, you can prevent the suffering of more than two thousand of these animals during your lifetime!” (11). The initial issue with Vegan Outreach’s document is that it fails to reference their work, the second issue is that it does little to reference the sample statistics of other animals, which makes their application of logos unreliable. In addition, this example statistic is not their
With the population of the world continuing to rise, the Earth’s ability and resources to sustain its people is nearing its capacity, if it not has been reached yet. With the increase in wealth and modernity, people are having more choices what to eat without realizing how the food they are eating are produced and manufactured. All they see are choice pieces in perfectly sealed Styrofoam trays and plastic wrap. To keep up with the demand, farmers are now adopting mass production methods that focus on numbers and less on how these modern farming methods cause or are causing wide-scale destruction to the planet.
The first things that come to a person mind when they hear the word, “vegan’, are usually protest for animal rights, salads, and a lack of protein, but the question is does he/she really know what being a vegan is all about? Veganism is the practice of abstaining away from the use of any product that uses animals, commonly associated with the cruel treatment of animals and make up thirty-one percent of the population worldwide. An ethical vegan is a form of veganism were a person does not use any product that has been tested on an animal or is made from an animal. A dietary vegan is a form of veganism were a person does not consume any product made from, by, or out of an animal. Many people believe that veganism is unnecessary because “not all animal are treated bad” or :it’s to hard, or “it’s bad for the body.” Although some people believe that, realistically, a vegan diet comes with an abound of benefits for animals, the body and the environment.
When it comes to what is the healthiest raw vegan foods or just food in general, the simpler the better. This is because digestion takes up less energy and nutrients are absorbed better. You will have more energy eating this way plus it is less time-consuming. If you do the raw vegan diet right, over time as you adjust and learn, you will actually save time. I'll also include some easy recipes such as banana ice cream, rawtella, and super ants on a log. However for the maximum benefits from your raw vegan meals I believe there a few simple food groups that will give you the best results.
Over fifty-six billion animals are slaughtered yearly for consumption, but because we are conditioned from a young age to view animals as resources, we neglect that they are passionate and intelligent living beings. Cows want to enjoy their lives, pigs want to enjoy their lives, and many other farm animals want to enjoy their lives but instead are abused and confined in small cages. Ironically, though, when someone does likewise to a cat or dog, they’re prosecuted. The sole solution to these inhumane acts is Veganism. Veganism is the ideal diet because plant-based foods are plentiful, and it recognizes the unethical treatment of animals.
Animal rights are another issue we are facing right now. There are many who believe that they have no rights, others say that they have the same rights as humans and others are in the middle of these two extremes issues. The topic is very complex because if animals have rights which one are those since the only way to protect them is by regulating them on how are they are treated or how can they be used. Animals are used in many ways such as food, medicine, research, cosmetics, cloth and sport among many other ways. Many who believe that the reason animals have no rights is because of the lack perception where they don’t feel or have pain like humans. There is no doubt that animals feel pain or pleasure and just for that reason they have rights, some people say. On the other hand, we cannot compare animals to humans because they are indeed different and for that reason, they cannot have the same rights. For example, animals can’t vote.
If I could only use one word to describe myself as a person, it would be healthy. When I say healthy I do not mean your average american’s portrayal of the word. Healthy as in no animal products in my system whatsoever. Yes! That means no meat, no dairy, and no eggs; this is also known as veganism or plant based. Some may say that it is an extreme and completely unnecessary way to live, but for me it is a form of activism for the animals, our health, and our dying planet. Whether the word “veganism” has a bad taste in your mouth or not; I still would like to share my personal experience and how it has positively changed me mentally, emotionally, and physically.
The Animal Rights movement has become a household name for many families. Whether it is from television, news, or firsthand experience, most people are familiar with the Animal Rights movement and their many different goals. It is important to keep in mind that the Animal Rights movement has many different goals in which they are set on achieving. There are many misconceptions when it comes to the Animal Rights movement and the most important would be that many don’t know the difference between animal rights and animal welfare activists. Animal Right’s activists are aiming to see animals treated equal to humans, based on recent studies that have concluded they have similar psychological and physical responses to discomfort, pain, and stress. Animal welfare activists aim more or less to ensure the just and humane treatment of animals, whether they are wild,
All animal products, such as eggs, milk, and leather, are derived using methods that add to animal suffering. In the case of both dairy and egg production, male calves and chicks are often killed unnecessarily since they are of no benefit to the farmer, and often experience cruel treatment leading up to their deaths. Likewise, buying leather necessitates killing animals for their pelts; even by abstaining from meat, widespread animal suffering will continue to occur in order to fulfill the demand for these other products. There are, of course, a select few cases in which individual households farm the animals they raise in a much more ethical manner, but they do not represent enough of the population to make a difference in this circumstance. Thus, the vegan argument proposes that one shouldn’t consume any product or partake in any action that involves the mistreatment of animals, with the purpose of reducing animal
It is becoming more popular than ever to turn to a vegan diet. Why? There are many reasons people decide to go plant-based. Many people choose it for health, morality, social justice, or simple logic. Sure, there is a long list of health benefits, such as increased energy, healthier skin, and reduced risks of heart disease, diabetes, and cancer. Yes, many oppose the injustices of animal slavery. Yet, many people do not seem to realize that the most beneficial results of being plant-based are based around the environment. We are going to discuss how the vegan diet would fight against negative environmental changes created by factory farming and dairy industry. We will cover the aspects of climate change, land sustainability, and water pollution.
You want to know something horrify and heartbreaking? People say they love animals but that’s false. Something that animal lovers don’t know is that 56 billion farmed animals are killed every year by humans and 200 million animals are reported killed by hunters in the United States every year. Treating animals for their fur and bones is not good for them and us. There meat can cause cancer, using their belongings is depressing and there should be more compassionate for them. I see animals as humans because they can feel happiness, sadness, anger and lastly pain. Animals can’t fight for their body but in this generation many vegetarians and vegans are against animal cruelty.
related to them. Vegan diets are proven to have health benefits for a lot of
I believe that animals should have rights. I have 2 cats and everyday they show emotion and show that they have some human characteristics. In my opinion if you breathe, have characteristics and emotion then you deserve rights. With this being said I also think it is impossible to change everyone's views and make them eat a vegan diet. I myself believe animals deserve rights, but it will be hard to change my diet instantly. Could you imagine changing a whole community, country or even the world's diets? Animals deserve rights like a happy life, but you cannot expect to change people's diets.
The killing of animals is a topic that can spawn much controversy. Many people believe that because animals are living creatures, they deserve similar rights as people. Vegans even go so far as to stop eating or drinking things that come from animals because they want to defend these rights. While animals live, breathe, and feel like humans, there are many ethical aspects that occur when deciding whether to kill an animal. What may be acceptable in one case may not be in others. Killing of animals can be good, bad, or both depending on the intentions of the killing are.
