The Currumbin Surf Life Saving Club (SLSC) as a whole is a well-designed multi storey local club, due to its modern but ‘beachy’ looking design traits, which reflects the surrounding up market area perfectly. The social facilities offered at the surf club consist of administration area, designated food ordering area and café, bar/drink service area, dining area, live sports entertainment area, gaming room (pokies) and toilets. The food ordering area is situated at the far end of the service area with the food menu situated in the middle of the club on a pole away from the ordering area so guests must look first then go up to order which causes congestion. The bar is quite large with 2 service areas with huge selection of beers and spirits also showcasing a wine selection area. The bar has a nice marble counter, which is complimented with a sleek scattered tile design. The sporting entertainment area is large with large flat screen and smaller screens with keno available. The gaming room is separate to the club and is accessed by a door to ensure under 18’s cannot enter. The manner in which the service counters have been positioned on one side of the venue has given the club more control over the club regarding guests and congestion within the club by creating a free flowing walkway between the service areas and tables allowing guests to easily walk in and out with out causing major congestion. Signage stating the exits within the club also ensures that guests are aware of their surroundings. The area in which guest can dine consists of inside with open plan

For instance, it furnishes roughly thirty tables of all shapes and sizes, a bar with a grille, and enough smoke to cause lung cancer. However, it is the little details that contribute to the atmosphere of this pool hall. Right inside the door is a cigarette machine with a large warning label on the glass, warning minors that they will be caught if they purchase cigarettes from this machine. Ashtrays line all of the tables, under each table lie two stools, stains covering the seat cushions. Above every few tables are television monitors, either turned off or playing some big game. These details alone do not separate the groups. The real detail lies within table rental. The ten tables closest to the doors are reserved for league games, which is to say that only league players are supposed to rent those tables on tournament nights. On first examination, this alone may seem to be the cause of social division, but it is not the only reason.

Our Town is a play that takes place near the turn of the century in the small rural town of Grover’s Corners, New Hampshire. The playwright, Thornton Wilder is trying to convey the importance of the little, often unnoticed things in life. Throughout the first two acts he builds a scenario, which allows the third act to show that we as humans often run through life oblivious to what is actually happening. Wilder attempts to show life as something that we take for granted. We do not realize the true value of living until we are dead and gone. The through-line of the action seems to be attention to the details of life. Wilder builds up a plot that pays attention to great details of living.
The intersection of dominant ideologies of race, class, and gender are important in shaping my social location and experiences. By exercising my sociological imagination (Mills, 1959), I will argue how my social location as an Asian American woman with a working class background has worked separately and together to influence how I behave, how others treat and view me, and how I understand the world. The sociological imagination has allowed me to understand my own “biography”, or life experiences by understanding the “history”, or larger social structures in which I grew up in (Mills, 1959). First, I will describe my family’s demographic characteristics in relation to California and the United States to put my analysis into context. I
The bar is well stocked with all kinds of whiskies and wines, which can be enjoyed with a variety of Italian appetizers.
Social location, or the status in life that people have because of their place in a society, have a huge impact on everyone. The impact that social location created could be neutral, but most of the time it will have a positive or negative impact on people. For example, an African American could be discriminated because of his ethnicity, or a patient will choose an older doctor when he needs a treatment. Different social location that we have will affect our decisions in everyday life, and most of the time it happened subconsciously, which means we don’t realize that the decisions we make are based on our social location. Like everyone else, I was affected by my own social location, both positively and negatively.

You have a choice of either sitting inside or outside. It is perched in the corner near a busy street. Normally, parking is an issue, but here there is a parking lot reserved only for Bear Flag Cafe customers. The parking lot is directly next to the restaurant, so there is no walk. Inside it 's spacious, but during rush hours it gets very busy! I witnessed two families running for a single table, like two dogs sprinting for a ball. Outside, there are tables in every direction with a fountain resting in the center. It 's a place where you and your
Many of these clubs have issue with prostitution and human trafficking. This type of environment gives a bad name to the club. Therefore, we will have undercover officers insuring that this type of things do not happen. By the club being proactive in this area, this will keep the law off our back. Instead of them being against us, they are for us.
When people think of their environment people think of their immediate surroundings; however, one's environment goes beyond and further into the psychological connection to one's personal environment. To further explain, Gallagher discusses three different aspects of The Power of Place: Outside In, Inside Out, and Synchrony. The book opens doors previously unnoticed about psychological ecology. From reading the book one learns that settings influence behavior more than the personalities of most people.

Here is a scenario countless Biola students can relate to: It is the end of your longest day of classes. Your pile of homework is waiting to be worked on but you would rather go out and socialize. You notice how your eyes begin to droop from drowsiness and how parched you long for a refreshing drink. It seems as if you cannot find a perfect compromise for school work, relaxation, and your social life. Luckily there is a location on campus where these tasks can coincide: Heritage Cafe. Ultimately the cafe is for buying coffee and going on with the rest of the day, right? While most consider this as true, there is a reason why there are tables, chairs, wifi, decor, music, and more throughout the cafe. Heritage provides a relaxing, calm environment, reminiscent of a petri dish that encourages community to thrive.
