It was a long cold morning in the midst of October, in our “extravagant” town of Venus. It was the start of our weekend in our town, where the clouds lay low and the people somehow always know. It was fall. The leaves unrolling and falling throughout the town. The sound of the winds whistling across the cramped streets. The people are involved in everything, and always seem to make mistakes. Which sadly doesn't always end well. A caring town, but not very forgiving. People die and people sin. A town that revolves around the church, but yet is full of sin. That's Venus for you. A small town but full of madness.
It all happened during that period of fall. On one October morning, the leaves falling and the skies as grey as the moon. I lay there

The church choir played their music first, and then the people gave their offerings. At the end they prayed for everyone that was in need, and then it was pretty much over. While I was at the service I had noticed a guy i've never seen before. At the end of the service I approached him to introduce myself. He presented himself as good man, and brave as well. He had blue eyes, luscious blonde hair, and he was very muscular. He also seemed like a noble man. As I started talking to him the priest showed up, and started conversing with the both of us. The priest had bushy eyebrows like a bunny's tail, yet he was bald. He was a sneaky man with bold eyes, and he sure did look like a priest. The priest was telling us about some place he was going to where he likes spending his weekends. He invited us to go with him. The new guy and I both agreed on going with …show more content…
Mainly things about our lives, and what they’re like. The priest then decided to tell us a big secret of his, so we listened carefully to the story he was about to tell us. This is how it went.
When the priest finished his story, I saw him like i've never seen him before. He seemed like such a bold guy. Very smart as well, at least not in a good way. I then realized why he would always carry his rosary with him, and his robe. He was a very sneaky guy, and yet people thought he was an honest man. Yeah, he sure was an honest man. I decided not to tell the priest anything. Little did I know, the “new guy” as I called him, had a story as well. We sat there and listened to his
Today, Herr Dippel complimented my English. He told me I am much improved from three years ago. This makes me happy. Herr Dippel has taught me many things but English he
“I am here to talk to you about your soul. I can do nothing about your sentence. Your husband is waiting to see you,” the priest
When we had first arrived at the church, I found it was in an odd location. The building connects with a Crossfit gym, that is between two other buildings. As we entered an old man held the door for the three of us and welcomed us. We walked in, having two other gentlemen welcoming us and referring to us as ladies. The room was a lot smaller than I had expected. There was around twenty people at the meeting. We sat in the fifth or sixth row. The front of the room is where the pulpit stood, which is where the pastor taught. There was also a table with the word “Remember” engraved in it. On the table sat two plates for money donations. I looked around the room and noticed all the posters on the walls. Many of them reference the crucifixion of Christ, with a scripture on it. The room had fake plants everywhere! They were on the ground, hanging on the walls, etc. It was to invite spring into the

It was hard to imagine it had only been four months since the shooting so much had happened.
Currently I find myself on the planet Almas. It is here that Akial was last spotted. He was teacher at the Jedi academy. Where he most likely lived a leisurely lifestyle. However, after the Republic was brought down, my dear father was pushed to live a life on the run. I first found out about his status as a teacher here on Almas from a couple of wandering tradesmen while I was still enslaved by the Hutts.
It was the spring of mid may traveling to Mauch Chunk Lake Park. Rolling down my window to get a hint of fresh air, the smell of trees, leafs and grass filling up my nose and filling up the car. Hearing the birds chirp and the cars passed while looking out the window to see miles and miles of trees weirdly calmed me.
Then a hear their rhinoceros footsteps stampeding from the living room to the kitchen table. Once the two rhinos get situated, our youngest leads us into prayer before we dig in. After the prayer and dinner, the boys helped me wash the dishes and amidst of doing this we get a knock on the door. I beat the two to the door and on the other side is some guy who claims he’s from the hospital that our dad is in. He’s light skinned, blue eyed, crooked teeth man with a slim figure wearing a blue uniform shirt with light brown pants and an ID card hanging around his neck. He asks me if he can come in, I allow him. He tells me he’s Nathan and that he’d like to talk to the adult in
I have been watching her for weeks, and today was the big day, the day I took her to become a part of my perfect family. When I first seen her in the flower shop buying Lilly’s I knew she was the best candidate to join my family of flowers. A beauty like her, I knew she just had to be the purest woman to ever exist, could replace my last Lilly any day, it being said, the last Lilly was not as pure as I hoped, and sadly I had to put that beloved family member of mine down. I also wanted her to be Lily because she was the most stunning woman I had ever seen with her chocolatey brown eyes and her short curvy body. Today she was wearing her club clothes, which was a tight dress that was also a little too short, it was a little skimpy, but it was
During the service, I set alone towards the back of the church. There were a couple of people who sat around me but no one sat right next to me. Even though I was unfamiliar with the religion and the rituals that took place, I didn’t feel uncomfortable. I’m a very sociable person so I didn’t mind speaking to others around me and attempting to engage in conversation. No one offered to sit with me but anytime they sang a song, the gentlemen to my right would bring me the hymn and direct me to the song that was being sung. I feel as though he could tell I was a visitor because from time to time, he would ask me if I understood what was going on and I just smiled.
We were at your house and your mom and Pia just left. I came back inside from moving my car so your mom could get into hers and as I walked in I jokingly said "Honey I'm home!" You looked at me from the kitchen like I was such a dork and I just smiled at you and walked over. You started singing and I went up to you, put my arms around your waist, and we started dancing. It wasn't even really dancing, we were just standing in place as close as we could be, just swaying back-and-forth. You were still singing and I was smiling like an idiot when you pulled your head back, looked at me, and realized that you had been singing the whole time. Your face got all red and you seemed so embarrassed like you've never sang around anyone before but then
The pursuit for liberty marked the birth of an acute conflict that developed and intensified in the 18th Century. War cries and the blood of brave men were a continuous epidemic that plagued the hopeful prayers of confined men and women. Nearly a decade has passed since the outbreak of the American Revolution, terminating this awful chapter of human history and revealing the commencement of a new nation-America. This time, democracy, not an oppressive dictatorship, will fuel the national government. The Bill of Rights was ratified in 1791, granting American citizens the opportunity to exercise their fundamental rights. Of these, freedom of press, religion, and petition are of the greatest importance, as they form the basis of a strong
Alice Walker’s “The Flowers” is a compacted short story that contains an explosive and unexpected secret in the midst of a rose garden, Walker’s detailed and quick paced plot leaves the reader with no idea about the dark climatic scene at the end of the story. Walker’s quick paced plot develops an unusual structure where the exposition and rising action occupy most of the story while the climax, falling action and resolution hastily occur within the last two paragraphs.
The world is made up of many different types of people, each one having his or her cultural background. Over the years, the United States has become increasingly populated with cultural diversity. This influx has prompted school administrators to recognize the need to incorporate multicultural programs into their school environment including classroom settings, school wide activities, and curriculum as it becomes more evident that the benefits of teaching cultural diversity within the school setting will positively influence our communities, and ultimately the entire nation’s future. The purpose of this paper is to share the pros and cons of multicultural education in the classroom. Additionally, I will express my views compared to those
