Verbal Disturbance
On 08-24-2016 at approximately 1700 hrs, I received a call via the city issued police department phone in reference to a pet that was killed by the neighbor. Upon arrival, I made contact with Carolyn Perry (TX-DL # 13247289), her residential address is 404 W.3rd Avenue # A. Perry was the reporting party about her small 8 month old kitten that was killed by the neighbor. Perry advised me, her small orange and white kitten went missing around last night with an unknown time frame. Perry was told by her nextdoor neighbor identified as Linda Bustos (TX-DL # 08437684), Bustos advised Perry that she had seen a cat lying in the roadway deceased the other day. Perry's husband David Yost (TX-DL # 17804652), came over to speak with Bustos about the issue and them coexisting as future neighbors. I allowed them to speak for quite sometime and Yost eventually departed back to his residence to calm down Perry, I spoke with Bustos, who requested that extra patrols be conducted to combat the drug trafficking issue that is occuring. I advised Bustos that extra patrols will be conducted and to contact the police department if she sees or hears anything that is suspicious. I departed her residence and relocated next door and spoke with Perry and Yost about ceasing communication with Bustos, and both agreed to ignore the issue, I advised Perry that I contacted the city and inquired if they removed any dead animals from the roadway and I was advised no. I looked near the roadway and could not locate any trace of blood or tire marks where the cat was seen. I advised Perry and Yost to contact me with any additional information, I spoke with Ronald Nuss (TX-DL # 21976393), and advised Nuss to cease with any vulgar languauge towards Bustos and to advoid stepping on her property, he agreed and I departed the location without further
Upon our arrival, a Hispanic male later identified as Juan Navarro opened the front door but not the security screen door of the home. I advised Navarro that I was the North Las Vegas Police Officer and was at his home because of the 911 disconnect. I asked Navarro if anyone else lived in the home to which he responded his three kids and the mother(Miriam Garcia) of his children lived there as well. I asked Navarro if we could speak to them to ensure that they were all in good health. At this point, Garcia came to the door and Navarro told me he would not open the door at that they were all "ok". Garcia then opened the screen door and when she did I noticed Navarro had two fresh diagonal scratches on his neck as well as two small cuts on his neck.
On 08/26/16 at 1:48pm, I Deputy Warden N. Christian was patrolling the 900 Block of Heyl Ave when I saw a black and white Chihuahua running loose with no known dog owner around. I followed the dog to 969 Heyl Ave where dog owner Donna Hanes open the door and let the dog inside. Ms. Hanes stated that the dog must have gotten loose when it was in the back yard. I asked Ms. Hanes if her dog was current on dog license and vaccinations, Ms. Hanes stated he was not. I issued Ms. Hanes violations for failure to license and failure to vaccinate her dog name Tito.
Kyser advised me that dog owner Sabrina White contacted him in regards to me impounding her dogs. Ms. White was currently in Alabama on her way home, her sister was reasonable for the dogs. It was agreed upon that Ms. White sister would take the dogs. I return to 5833 Riverton Road where I met with dog keeper Dorcas Padgett. I explained that to Ms. Padgett that we received a complainant of Pit Bull name Chica was loose. As I was unable to confined Chica back to the property, I impounded her and Terrier name Paint for not displaying a dog license. I explained to Ms. Padgett that their will be violations for both dogs. Ms. Padgett stated she would accept the violations. I asked to see Ms. Padgett identification, she complied. On 1-30-17 I received a copy of police report number, SR17-01792, from the KCSD Agency. The police report was from Officer Gabriel Gonzalez. Officer Gonzales stated on 1-20-17 he was in contact with Catrina Prairie. Officer Gabriel said Catrina was trying to report of restraining order violation. After speaking with Catrina, Officer Gonzales requested she contact her local agency.
On 05/08/18, at approximately 10:56am, I Deputy Warden N. Christian with Franklin County Animal Care and Control (FCACC) was dispatched to 4514 Starrett Court on a dangerous or vicious dog investigation (dog owner owner's address). I arrived on scene at approximately 11:25am. I met with victim Syed Naque, who stated he was outside his resident when a medium size dog (black) came up from behind him and bit him on his right thigh. Mr. Naque stated the dog continue to come at him in a aggressive manner even after he went inside the house, the dog would charged the side door. On 05/08/16 at 2:47pm, I was dispatched to 5064 Blue Meadow Court, on an injury-possible dangerous or vicious dog, owner known, animal confined. I arrived at the house and spoke to victim Xavier Holston-Sims. Mr. Holston-Sims stated that he was riding his bike from the corner store on Cleveland Ave, when a dog came out and bite him on his left leg. I took a victim statement from Mr. Holston-Sims stating those facts. I then want to 4975 Cleveland Ave and spoke to dog owner Lisha Entingh. Ms. Entingh stated that she was not outside when the incident happen, but that her friend was walking the dog on a leash in her yard when the dog pulled away and bite the victim. On 11/07/16 at 4:48pm, I Deputy Warden N. Christian was dispatched to 2237 Marshrun Court on a dog at large, possible owner known. I arrived at the location and a saw a dog laying on the ground at that address. I exited my vehicle and the dog charge at me, as I was returning to my vehicle an unknown female individual came out of the house. I waved her down and pointed at the dog and she gain control of the dog and placed the dog in the house. I approached the house and advised her that there was a complaint in regards to the dog running loose. The female individual stated that the dog must have gotten out of the backyard. On 01/28/18 at approximately 12:39pm, I Deputy Warden N. Christian with Franklin County Animal Care and Control (FCACC) was dispatched to the area of 3625 Shoreline Drive, on a dog at large, patrol only. I arrived on scene at approximately 1:03pm. Prior to arriving at the above location and unknown female flagged me down and stated the dog that is loose caused her dog to break loose from her chain. After speaking to the unknown female I continued to the above location, where I saw a Mastiff (Brindle) loose in that general area. I took pictures of the dog loose. Christian was dispatched to 491 Townsend Ave on a follow-up on the previous incident. I arrived at the location and spoke to Demawn L. Henry (keeper) who resided at the above stated location. Mr. Henry stated that his sister owned the two pit bulls that was involved in the incident. Due to the incident Mr. Henry sister picked the pit bulls up and took them with her. Mr. Henry was unsure what his sister did with the pit bulls. I asked to speak to Mr. Henry sister, he stated she was at work until 7pm. Mr. Henry was not taking ownership/responsibility of the pit bulls, stating that his sister just dropped the pit bulls off at his house without him knowing. I informed Mr. Henry that due to the pit bulls coming from his house that he is considered of the keeper of the pit bulls. Mr. Henry informed me that he was not, I asked Mr. Henry why didn't he contact FCACC to come pick up the pit bulls. Mr. Henry stated he was not aware the pit bulls was in or at his house. I asked to see Mr. Henry identification, he complied. I took a picture of Mr. Henry identification. Ms. Garcia-Gantiago stated that her son and Jacob were climbing over the fence near the dog, when Jacob was bit. Ms. Garcia-Gantiago stated that their pit bull name Macky was tied up. I explained to Ms. Garcia-Gantiago that Ms. Collins has elected to not pursue charges against her in regards to the incident. Her issues is that they still have the pit bull when they advised her that they were getting rid of it. I asked Ms. Garcia-Gantiago if Macky was current on dog license and vaccinations, she stated he was current on vaccinations but not on dog license. I asked Ms. Garcia-Gantiago if I could see her identification, she complied. On 09/03/16 at 5:15pm, I Deputy Warden N. Christian was dispatched to 3580 Whisper Creek Drive, on a dog on dog or cat attack, owner known. I arrived at the location and spoke to complainant Honora Wright. Ms. Wright stated that early that day, she was outside unloading her car. Ms. Wright dog was outside with her trying using the . Ms. Wright noticed two dogs unleashed near her house, she commanded her dog to go inside. As her dog was moving towards the house, a Mastiff and a Labrador mix came towards her dog. At approximately 0134 Hours, Cortez Dispatch advised me Breback, J. called 911 and hanging up. Cortez further advised that upon call back Breback, J. advised everything was ok for the moment and hung up. Sgt. Minor and I responded back to the residence, upon arriving at the residence we walked from the roadway in the dark watching the residence. The residence had all the first floor lights on and the lights on in the upstairs bedroom. I watched the residence for any signs of Breback, C. being in the residence. The female occupant stated that her brother and girlfriend owned the dog involved in the incident. The female occupant stated that her brother is on his way home. Bullying is aggressive behaviour that generally occurs among school children. It is a repeated behaviour, sometimes repeated over time. (StopBullying, n.d.) Bullying is the misuse of power by a group of people or an individual towards another person. Bullying can be physical, verbal or emotional.
Conflict in the workplace causes a decrease in the quality of care. Conflict creates chaos and a higher risk of poor patient care. Additionally low moral equals poor quality of care. As Sullivan stated, disruptive conflict does not follow any set of rules, and parties involved engages in activities to beat their opponent which causes angry, fear, and stress (2012).
