Veterinary Medicine Personal Statement

Although this statement is completely true, the treatment of dogs is not all that vets do. Cats, cows, parrots, and horses are just a few of the many other animals that veterinarians help. As you could probably guess, the profession of being a vet requires many years of education, being that the job requires you to have a good background knowledge of issues that animals may have. In this essay, I’m going to walk you through my educational path to accomplish my goal of becoming a Veterinarian.

Veterinary technicians are like the techies of the theatre; the organization would be able to function without them, but it would be much harder. Things run a lot more smoothly with vet techs. There are multiple benefits that come with being a veterinary technician. These benefits include, but are not limited to, a high job outlook, great room for advancement, and only two years of schooling (depending on the route you take). Above all, the animals, who aren’t always able to help themselves, are being taken care of.

The career that I want to achieve is a Veterinarian. I want to become a Veterinarian after I graduate college. Want to become that, because I would like to help out animals that are sick and be able to make their owners happy. I would have to go to high school and go to classes to learn about health science. Then, go to college and learn more about science so I will be able to know what is need to become a veterinarian. I will get my degree in college and graduate.

The practicality and variability associated with this profession will be intellectually challenging. However, I enjoy and am driven by challenging problems. Growing up, I noticed how our pets truly enhance our lives. They are an antidote for our loneliness, enrich our joys, and teach us about loyalty and love. Eventually, I became attracted towards medicine and animals. It wasn’t just because I’m interested in the health and welfare of animals, it was also able because I communicate well with people.

I am applying for the HNC animal care course at SRUC Oatridge Campus. I have always been interested in animals, they have always been my passion and that's why this course is right for me.

I love animals and I would love to work with them. Ever since I was a little girl I knew I would want to work with animals because they interested me so much. I chose the career of a Vet Technician. This job is often confused with the veterinarian or veterinary technologist. These two fields are totally different than a vet technician. Veterinarian required eight years of schooling, where the Veterinary technologist requires a bachelor degree in applied science. The job of an veterinary technician is to provide nursing care and assist surgeries for animals. Think of it as a human nurse, and a doctor, the vet tech assist the veterinarian in diagnosing illness and injuries. Some other jobs a veterinary technician might have would be preparing an animal for a surgery like a scrub with germicidal soap, sterilizing the surgical utensils, setting up a room

My understanding of a credentialed veterinary technician is they are essentially a “nurse” to a Veterinarian. They are expected to do anything from assisting in surgery, managing anesthesia, drawing blood, administering medications, taking x-rays, cleaning teeth, interacting with clients, and so much more. I will make sure that the animals and the clients get the kind of care

Many of my friends and family have argued with the idea that I should pursue a more practical career, doctor, lawyer, teacher, to name a few examples. However, I was never attracted to that, I knew that, regarding their background, that they essentially did not really understand what it is to pursue those kinds of careers.

In 1908, the Canine Nurses Institute made the first organized effort to train veterinary assistants in England. It wasn't until 1989 that the AVMA officially adopted the term "veterinary technician." In 1981, the North American Veterinary Technician Association was formed to represent all veterinary technicians. The name has since changed to the National Association of Veterinary Technicians in America (NAVTA), an organization that works closely with AVMA to protect, support, and promote the profession of veterinary technology. It's also responsible for the development and accreditation of veterinary technician specialties. It takes a lot to be a Veterinarian technician from the duties and tasks to the education and training that veterinarian technicians has to have which all comes down to the salary and benefits veterinarian technicians make.

When I was a child, I was always asked, “What do you want to be when you grow up?” The answers ranged from musician, manager, doctor, and veterinarian. The last few years have helped me narrow down my career path and gave me passion to pursue a career in veterinary medicine—a veterinary technician in particular. This has been a result of the experiences and people I have encountered and a drive to better the profession.

Veterinarians provide medical services for animals that are big and small. Helping sick animals weather they are big or small. They provide medicine for house pets and farm animals. When owners take there pet to the vet they are looking for someone to provide information to them about their animal. Some of the information given to the own is about how to properly care for your animal to make sure it grows the right why. Veterinarians are there to help animals no matter the size.

In conclusion, after researching what careers I was interested in I was able to decided I would like to be a veterinary physician. I learned it would take me four years for schooling and by the time I get out of college the job market for that perfusion is only expected to expand. The tuition to the university of Cincinnati is 17,000 dollars which is not much to pay off because my starting salary is around 65,066 dollars so can pay it back in a couple of months. When it comes to the class will have to take they are class that I am good at and enjoy so I will have no problem with them. Even though it is a very competitive field it is well worth the pay off in the end and is what I plan to do when I go to
