I chose the career of a Vet Technician. This job is often confused with the veterinarian or veterinary technologist. These two fields are totally different than a vet technician. Veterinarian required eight years of schooling, where the Veterinary technologist requires a bachelor degree in applied science. The job of an veterinary technician is to provide nursing care and assist surgeries for animals. Think of it as a human nurse, and a doctor, the vet tech assist the veterinarian in diagnosing illness and injuries. Some other jobs a veterinary technician might have would be preparing an animal for a surgery like a scrub with germicidal soap, sterilizing the surgical utensils, setting up a room

Arroyo Veterinary Hospital is an animal hospital located in Sonoma, California. It was founded in 1981. In 1997, it was purchased by husband and wife Rich Lee and Dr. Rhonda Stallings. Their services include anesthesia/ surgery, dental, diagnostics, exam/ vaccination, first aid, hospitalization, plus more. Arroyo Veterinary Hospital was voted as the Best Veterinarian of 2015 and 2016 by the People’s Choice Award of Sonoma Index-Tribune. They were also voted as Best Animal Care by the Sonoma Valley Best of 2015. Arroyo Veterinary Hospital has been AAHA Accredited since 2006.

Ever since I was little I was told that I was going to be a veterinarian. Well not quite I think vet tech is more of my area. I love animals they amaze me, and I love dogs the most.

the professions and the tasks and responsibilities in the veterinary field are not as easy as they sound. Being a veterinary has its responsibilities and they have to be followed by everyone in the clinic or workplace to make things simple and keep it a good organized place to work . It is way more difficult and not as simple, everyone just thinks that being a vet is just about taking care of animals and that's it, but it's really more than that. Also being a veterinary technician is similar to a veterinarian but they have different duties. One of the duties of being a tech is evaluat animals assist veterinarian, collect samples and administer medication, clean and wrap wounds and many more duties.

Who are veterinary technicians? Many people don't realize that a lot of the work done on animals, is by vet techs, instead of the actually veterinarian. Veterinarians wouldn't be able to do all the things they do throughout the day, without the help of their vet techs. Some say veterinary technicians even do more than the vets do in their daily routines. Veterinary technicians are important to animal clinics, and the community around them.

This Anaesthetic case study would describes and discussed the scenario of a patient through the anaesthetic role of their surgical procedure. It will include and discuss the anaesthetic safety procedures equipment and drug interventions used to ensure this particular patients maximum safety and comfort before and during the procedure. When working in the veterinary health information management field, what becomes apparent is that; just the same for humans, animals also do not like change without their consent. This research term paper will focus on the health information management and documentation requirements that are present in the veterinary delivery setting. Additional information will be provided that will help towards defining the role and function of the health information management professional in the veterinary delivery setting. Thus being said, a veterinary technician career is a natural step for an aspiring veterinarian wanting to test the waters. Most veterinary technicians find employment in private veterinary practices doing traditional clinic work, but veterinary technician career opportunities are also available in other fields, such as teaching, biomedical research, and zoo wildlife medicine.

When pondering the question of who I want to become, I looked back on my childhood and remembered the many pets I had, 3 hamsters Ms. Shaq, Mr. Penny, and blister, four rabbits Cotton ball, Fluff ball, Whisky, and black boy. Later in my life, I got 3 dogs Mangum, Coogi, sandy. Taking a look down memory lane, I can remember having a love for animals from elementary until now, I have nursed and taken care of animals for so long On the day I graduated high-school I was assured I wanted to become a veterinary technician. I wanted to become a veterinary technician because the passion and love I have for animals through having my own pets I experienced giving my dogs medications, giving my rabbits antibiotic shots, clipping nails, and cleaning ears.

One major part of all peoples’ lives is health care, without it society would have no way of staying healthy and happy, and people would also have no way of treatment in case of an emergency. This also applies to all the pets’ lives are shared with. A certain profession is also needed to provide this care service for all of the animals. The people responsible for this service are Veterinarians. There is a lot to learn about the career of a veterinarian, including all of the schooling required, what a vet does, all of the advantages as well as the disadvantages, and the future outlook for this career.

Eight years is a long time to go to school to be an equine veterinarian, but it offers a lifetime of saving horses. True one has to go to a college or university for eight plus years to become an equine veterinarian, but it all pays off in the end. It does not pay in money, but knowing that one saves a horses life, or can make their life better. This is what Charlie Scoggin was trying to say when he said “In my opinion, a salary should not be the sole means for deciding upon a job.
