I think Shakespeare Behind Bars is a great program to help inmates feel more involved. This program gives them a chance to do something other than the regular daily routines of their prison. Helps them to create new friendships and express themselves in a way they haven’t been able to while stuck in a cell all day. While watching the video about a few of the inmates it told their story of how they ended up in prison. Some of them did really bad things but some did those things out of protection.
This one guy in the video killed his wife because she was abusing him and making him feel bad about himself and as if he was the one in the wrong. Eventually he couldn’t take it, instead he took matters into his own hands and stood up for himself but
Shakespeare Inc., a private publishing company issued its F/S on March 20, 2012. There were several accruals and events that the management of Shakespeare is considering to determine if they should be recognized or disclosed in Dec 31, 2011 F/S. In my opinion, the important things to focus on subsequent events are the period they effect and if their influence is material or not, so that in conclusion, the F/S are fairly presented.

Oliver parker's Othello came out in 1995 with Laurence Fishburne as Othello this is also the first time Othello was played by a coloured actor, Kenneth Branagh as Iago and Irene Jacob as Desdemona. Parker kept the original plot and language intact, however the movie seemed to give Othello life through visual and audio aids. Parker's Othello enables the viewer to associate on a personal level and compliments to the anticipation and imagination of those who have read the play before watching the movie.

Shakespeare in the Bush written by Laura Bohannan is a story talking about how a American Anthropologist travels to study a tribe called the Tiv of West Africa, but while she was out there she was introduced into a completely different environment and type of living which is what she was studying. The tribe that she was living with was very into the method of story telling while you sat around a fire and drank and told these stories, due to the fact that they could go outside because the ground are to difficult to walk through during the wet season. Laura when she was out in West Africa she decide to try and teach this native tribe the true meaning of Hamlet, which is a sometimes hard read for most Americans due to
Showing the video to new inmates is a good idea because it gives them a real small insight of what prison is like. The video serves as a study guide for future inmates. It opens the eyes of people and makes them realize that actions that could be considered “normal” on the outside, in prison these actions are red flags. It is important for people to understand that in most cases inmates are not doing favor because of their kindness or just because maybe they went through the same situation before. In prison, everything is different and is very likely that every favor regardless of how small it is, it comes with a huge hidden price tag that must be paid somehow at some
William Shakespeare was possibly born on about April 23, 1564. . He was John and Mary Shakespeare's oldest surviving child. Their first two children were both girls but did not live beyond infancy. Growing up as the big brother of the family, William had three younger brothers, Gilbert, Richard, and Edmund, and two younger sisters: Anne, who died at seven, and Joan.
My observation of the shakespeare love's labor's lost at the quiescent theater is that the stage design was not what I expected for a shakespearean play which I assumed would see these big elegant set pieces for the king's court but their was only two shrubs and seem mostly dependent on the lighting I thought this was a good decision because of the lack of scenery paid more attention to the actors because. The costumes the characters wore looked to be of modern attire except I felt that especially Biron that he was the rebel of the group of scholars while the two other associates Longaville and Dumaine who were dressed in debonair attire in contrast to biron who wore a hoodie under his blazer, khaki shorts and ruffled which was really helpful to me because I had a hard time understanding his character but
William Shakespeare was a English Poet, Playwright, and a actor. He was born on April 26th, 1564 in Stratford (lander). His father John, was born in 1531 and was a successful businessman in trading wool, malt, and corn. His mother Mary, was Born in 1540, who was a member of the noble Catholic family of the Ardens of Park Hill. Mary was also the favorite out of eight daughters of the widowed Robert Arden. The connection between Mary and John Shakespeare may be pieced together, John's father Richard, was a tenant farmer who lived in Snitterfield and worked, and grazed his animals. Some of the land was known to belong to Mary’s father, the wealthy Robert Arden of Wilmecote. John had initially started work as being a farmer
Known as one of the best poets in the 16th century, William Shakespeare wrote many well-known plays we still act out today. Many people know of or have heard of William Shakespeare. His plays are used and taught in many schools all around the globe. Even though he wrote his plays back then, they still have meaning to us today. His whole life makes up who he is as a playwright.
The Telegraph lists many conspiracy theories on who really is behind the plays that, as of now, belong to William Shakespeare. The fact that “there is so little know about the real William Shakespeare” and his early life was what brought attention to the author of this article. Joseph C. Hart and Delia Bacon were the first to question Shakespeare in 1856 by stating the “plays were written by several different authors.” Since then, conspiracy against Shakespeare has become more notable and proven more likely. The conspiracies include Edward de Vere, the 17th Earl of Oxford, Sir Francis Bacon, Christopher Marlowe, William Stanley (because of his initials), and Roger Manners. All of these men are capable of claiming authorship for William Shakespeare’s plays, but he still holds claim to them.
Some people may not have a psychological disorder that put them in prison and others may never recover from their illness. This program is a good idea if combined with other forms of punishment as well.
In the story Shakespeare in the Bush, author Laura Bohannan has an argument with a friend about the interpretation of Shakespeare 's literature. Her friend stated that Shakespeare was "a very English poet" and that people of other cultures could certainly misunderstand his literal meanings. The author then argues that the plots and motivations of Shakespeare 's tragic plays will always be apparent because human nature is more or less universal through out the world. She does however take into account that the customs and translation of his works could produce slight differences in their interpretations. The argument remained a stalemate as she was preparing to travel to Africa. Her friend gave her a copy of Hamlet as a parting gift with
Early Modern drama criticism has been concerned with the parallels between punishment on-stage, performed for an audience in plays such as Thomas Kyd’s The Spanish Tragedy; and punishment as it was enacted on the scaffold. In his play, Kyd aligns this parallel with another: that between revenge and justice. Though separate in one sense, revenge can be understood in terms of justice, and justice therefore seemingly has some qualities in common with its presumed opposite. On top of this, Kyd superimposes the tension between Catholicism and Protestantism. The Spanish Tragedy, then, sets up and destroys a three pronged opposition: the opposition between judicial punishment and theatrical punishment; the opposition between rival forms of Christianity; and the opposition between the public and private revenger. I will discuss each of these oppositions in turn and it is through this lens that I will examine the representation of punishment in the play.
