Violence Back Then To Now: How Violence Can Change The World

"A plane just crashed right into one of the Twin Towers!" Someone yelled. People were screaming because they were on fire. Others were fleeing for their life, but all I could do was stare in awe at the smoking hole in one of the biggest towers in New York. September 11, 2001, one of the most devastating days for me, and for all of America.

It was a great Tuesday morning in New York and people were doing their normal routines. There were two World Trade Centers in New York that people worked in. They were all doing their regular jobs as every day but their ordinary day became something they had never expected. Out of nowhere in the sky came a jet and it headed directly for the North Tower.

Emotions regarding the expansion of slavery yielded barbaric acts across the country including the canning of Charles Sumner, the hanging of John Brown, and the violence that construed in the Kansas territory. Each of the victims were white, were antislavery, and fell victim to the violence of a pro-slavery Democrat outraged by their actions. These acts of violence swayed many Democrats voters to the Republican Party setting the platform for success for Republican Presidential Candidate Abraham Lincoln who won the election of 1860 with 180 electoral votes to Southern Democratic candidate Breckenridge 's 72.

The pentagon was hit that same day and another plane headed for the capital building crashed. The damage cost up to 2 trillion dollars for all repairs. This tragedy has changed and affected this country in many ways like the new changes in airport laws and security and how are country is still affected by the terrorists with the war in afghanistan.

11 destroyed the lives of many, generated a tremendous economic deficit and caused mass hysteria among all Americans for years to come. On September 11, 2001, 19 radicals with the Al-Qaeda terrorist group hijacked four commercial airplanes and carried out suicide attacks on what is known today as the worst terrorist attack on the United States. This heinous act of war killed 2,996 people including civilians, firefighters, police officers and paramedics; surpassing the death toll of the attack on Pearl Harbor in December 1941.

On that day, thousands of innocent people lost their lives due to an act that was unthinkable. It was the day that the United States of America was attacked by nineteen terrorists part of Al-Qaeda.
