1 VISION AND MISSION STATEMENT Papa John’s does not have a vison or mission statement on their company website. Typically a vision and mission statement would be under the “About Us” section of a website however, Papa John’s has multiple slogans, which include “Building a foundation of quality” and “Driven to be the best. Better ingredients. Better Pizza.” While the slogans do give the consumer an idea of what the company is about, they do not clearly tell a person the mission which is the present business and its purpose of who Papa John’s is, what they do, and why they are in business. Also the slogans do not convey a vision statement since they do not say where the company is going or their aspirations. Papa John’s would benefit from putting a mission and vision statement to summarize the intent of the present and future business of the company. It is difficult to distinguish their current and future business goals from a slogan. 2 INTERNAL ASSESSMENT FINANCIAL EVALUATION AND FUTURE OUTLOOK When the recession hit in 2008, Papa John’s managed to increase net income about 56% by fiscal year 2009. This could indicate that the pizza industry is more recession proof than other industries due to low prices and good value. From years 2009 to 2013 revenue was primarily generated from domestic company owned restaurant sales. Papa John’s was able to add to their revenue during this time by steadily increasing international sales which allowed Papa John’s to generate a total growth

Domino’s Pizza and Papa John’s Restaurant have similar menu that offer many choices to customers, but their prices and atmospheres set them apart. In What Domino’s Pizza and Papa John’s Restaurant are similar and different? The restaurants basically serve pizzas, they also have breadsticks, cheese sticks, various-flavored chicken wings, desserts, and extras like banana peppers and jalapeño peppers. They are baked crispy, with little sponginess or give in the middle. Not even the magic combination of garlic and parmesan with marinara sauce can give back the soft center these amazing breadsticks deserve. An organization should also have a plan and map out their destination. They should consider where they are, where they want to go, and how they will get here. Trader Joe’s mission statement does not provide where the organization wants to go and what the plan for the future is, but they have established a cohesive and loyal relationship with the customer, which in turn has contributed to the success and advancement of this company. Trader Joe’s is very secretive and has never participated in a major story about its business operations (Beth Kowitt, 2010). There are no financials to be found online or anywhere for that matter. The growth of the organization has
As CEO of Papa John’s pizza, John Schnatter has come from a meager beginning as a hard working pizza connoisseur encouraged by his organizations ability to maximize its profitability with the likes of Pizza Hut and Dominoes. Papa John’s continues to receive high praise for its ability to compete in such an historic market. Prior to 2013, Papa John’s was a company with high praise not only for its third largest ownership in its industry, but in 2013 some comments related to the increase of cost due to Obamacare, and the acknowledgement by then Presidential candidate, Mitt Romney that Schnatter’s home was much more lavish than many people in America, the average Joe view of Schnatter and Papa John’s took a major hit (Bandler & Burke, 2013).

The three greatest strategic challenges Papa John’s currently faces are competition, pricing, and meeting growth targets. As with any organization, they are continuously competing against other firms in their markets. The market is highly competitive with other retailers such as Pizza Hut, Domino’s, and Little Caesars also looking to create a competitive edge for their businesses. Although Papa John’s has created a successful brand they must still work at providing products and services which their competition cannot. Through marketing and technology they must understand their market in order to ensure they are staying true to their core values while providing more of what the consumer is looking for above their competitors.
Panera Bread has established itself as one of the most popular, fast growing “bakery-café” restaurants in the United States as well as in Canada. With 1,800 locations in 45 states, the franchise appears to be unstoppable. This in part is due to the superior customer service experience that keeps customers coming back time and time again. Just to give you an example, in 2012; the most recent year that data is available, Panera Bread brought in an astounding $2.13 billion in revenue, about $1 billion more than its revenue in 2008.
Businesses usually abide by a mission statement to align goals and values establishing objectives toward creating the purpose of providing a service with the intent of promoting a quality product. My mission statement goes as follows...”Quality service and customer satisfaction are the driving force which Taste of Manila and its employees strive to achieve and will settle for

One of the main reason’s Papa John’s has had so much success since the time of their inception is the limited menu and freshness of their product. A limited menu could be considered as a disadvantage, but for Papa John’s the limited menu is an advantage as the main focus is their fresh pizza (Parnell, 2014). They have received numerous awards for customer satisfaction, as they only use fresh ingredients and vegetables on their pizza (Parnell, 2014). They also require all of their franchise locations to purchase their ingredients from a list of approved suppliers. More recently, the pizza industry has changed by offering more low cost pizza options from companies like Little Caesar’s and Cici’s (Parnell, 2014). The pizza from these locations
The mission statement is a written document that an organization declares its core purpose. The mission statements defines the essence of the organizations needs and their core purpose of their existence. It describes the role that they play in the community and portrays the club’s image, charisma, and individuality. If the mission statement is written correctly it can provide an explanation to internal and external individuals on what the organization stands for. Some of the components that are key to the mission statement are members, product and service, market, technology and philosophy are just a few that should be in the mission statement. Without and effective mission statement to inspire your employees and members on why you exist it won’t mean anything to them. Here is an example of a mission statement from Kohl’s
