Form is the element of art that is three dimensional and makes the picture leap off the page. Line is an element of art that is defined as a moving point, lines manage two or three dimensional, descriptive, implied or abstract shapes. Shape is the part of art that is two dimensional and limited by height and width. Space shows positive and negative areas that show the depth of art. and Kathryn E. Price who recognised his talent and sent him to Ricks College and BYU. Angels of Mercy is one of Clark’s paintings ad is fairly well known. In this painting it shows a cowboy in the snow carrying a calf away from its dead mother back to this cowboy’s horse. Looking closer at this painting you can see that the temperature is below freezing, indicated by the horse’s breath and the snow on the ground. The eagle bill tapaderos hanging from the stirrups protect the cowboys boots from brush and keep the boots from wearing out. Also you can see that the horse’s reins are not tied and are hanging loosely in the snow indicating that the horse is well trained not to wonder off. The breast collar on the horse doesn't have a martingale going from the breast collar to the halter shows that this horse is well behaved. The lack of the horse’s halter shows that this horse was grabbed in a hurry, maybe because of a recent storm and to prove the fact is the snow on the
Imagine seeing the crucifiction of Christ. Seeing that happen would change everyone’s view of the world. Christ’s crucifiction affected many people, including His mother, Mary. Juan de Juanes, the artist, painted this scene realistically. This painting was made with oil paints on panel with long flowing strokes, which seemed to make it come to life. Juan de Juanes depicts many aspects in this painting such as historical significance, colors, and subject matter.
The visual and tactile imagery in Cather’s My Antonia highlight the novel’s theme of nostalgia. In the first paragraph of the passage, Jim writes about an afternoon out with Antonia. He describes the plains of Nebraska, his surroundings, using words of warmth and peace. Jim talks about the “warm, grassy bank,” the “amber sunlight,” and the “tall asparagus…lying on the ground.” The visual imagery, displayed in these descriptions, contributes to the theme of nostalgia as Jim reminisces about a more peaceful and loving part of his adolescence. Through this visual imagery, Jim’s descriptions of his surroundings immerse themselves into the novel and become a character of their own. The sun, the sky, the animals- Jim’s surroundings- aid in Jim’s
In the United States there are many different motorcycle clubs; The Hell’s Angels, Pagans, Mongols, Outlaws, and Bandidos are some of the motorcycle clubs that ride the roads of America. One of the more notable ones are the Pagans who are known for not just riding their bikes but for their rivalry with the Hells Angels. Lou Dobkin, the creator, made the club in 1959. Since then the club has risen to fame and then dropped in membership numbers, coincidentally when membership for the Hells Angels have risen. The club has an estimated membercy of three hundred to four hundred people, across thirteen states, in their chapters. One of the more notable things about the Pagans is their rivalry with
In The Killer Angels, Michael Shaara fictionally illustrates the historical facts of the battle at Gettysburg. Shaara gives action and words to characters of another time, and then places these players on the stage of this great battle. Through the use of powerful biblical and non-biblical imagery and themes the epic nature of the battle at Gettysburg and its characters are enhanced. Such imagery and themes, combined with Shaara's fictionalization, help to contribute to why this single battle holds such monumental significance and influence upon the lives of Americans over a century removed from its occurrence.
Walter Dean Myers historical novel, Fallen Angels takes place in Vietnam during the war. The main character Perry, recently enlisted in the army, to fight in the Vietnam war. Perry and his fellow warriors have to fend off the Vietnamese and use determination to win the war. The theme expressed in this story is that personal experiences enable people to mature.
In my book Ark Angel a recurring motif is backstabbing and the fact of people pulling the strings for other peoples lives. The reason I think this is because when Alex was in the hospital he was deliberately put there without his knowing,it was his bosses hoping that he could make a connection with Paul and they didn't even tell him. Also the fact that everything feels like there is someone higher up pulling the strings, what I mean by pulling the strings is that there is someone that is controlling the every move of them and that they can't do anything without them knowing about it.There are definitely more things that give off a feeling but I feel that this was the best one because it was very heavy and just hung over me while I was reading
Art is a particular form of social consciousness and of human activities, an important way for people to perceive, discover and improve life: according to the laws of beauty. It is the creation of tangible or intangible products containing great values of thought-aesthetics, cultural character, and emotions. In this sense, there are numerous types of art. Painting is one of the oldest forms of art on earth. From prehistoric times, artists not only used it to communicate, but they also used painting to entertain the viewers. Painting can be transformed, eliminating the tedium, fatigue, and stress in daily tasks to bring the joy. Fun in life or silence for the soul. In other words, painting is a language that communicates an artist 's ideas
Likewise, another element of art in this painting is color, which has already been discussed, but it is clear to see that the colors in this picture are full of richness and saturation, and there are not much dull colors outside of the clothes on Mary. Also, it does look like there are a few hints of green in the background of the angel wings, so there was most likely a mixture of colors to create the specific colors in this painting. A fourth element of art that is prevalent in this painting are shadows and hightlights. In this painting, it looks as though Cimabue was able to create shadows on the back of the angels with the vast amounts
Next, Alberti describes the painting component composition, which is the way that objects in a painting fit together in relationship to one another. It is in this explanation that Alberti delves into dealing with the perspective of a painting as a whole. As Alberti mentioned in his veil concept, parallel lines also play a role in constructing objects with angles that rise from the ground. He explains that by adding perpendicular lines to the parallels, creating a grid, one can measure out the length and width that every object will be.
Art is the theme of art, this means that the main reason artist design different types of art works is to bring about the visual satisfaction. One of the major reason as to why artist paint, draw or design their works is to have something to have look at. Therefore, before a viewer analyses a piece of art, he or she has to look at it as the first and foremost
Yes, the elements in the artwork relates to each other by addressing the elements of artwork. The artists use a shape, in a form of a two-dimensional rectangles on the walls left and right by the balcony and a three-dimensional sculpture of the three men appearing to be in the painting. The perspective of the wood floor panels being observed smaller as far vertical as the distance, but the floor panels appear longer horizontally in the dimension in sight (Editorial Board [EB], 2015 p.8). The texture in the work of art are the wood panels feeling rough on the bottom and smooth on the top of the panel and would be sharp on the corners. When describing the texture in the photo, now when referring to the texture of the painting it's going to feel like sandpaper and scratchy.
Themes are fundamental and sometimes universal ideas that are explored in literary work. The loss of innocence is one of the different themes of Fallen Angels. The title of the novel immediately emphasizes the theme of innocence and youth. As Lieutenant Carroll explains in Chapter 4, all soldiers are “angel warriors,” because most of the soldiers are still young boys and still as innocent as angels. By naming the novel Fallen Angels, Walter Dean Myers suggests that the soldiers’ innocence and youth are some of the most important aspects and can be more important than their religion, ethnicity, class, or race. The novel is foremost a tale of a loss of innocence in a squad of soldiers in the Vietnam War. Richie enters Vietnam at seventeen years old, and the other members of the squad including Peewee are also teenagers. Peewee is incapable of growing a mustache. His three life goals are to drink wine from a corked bottle, smoke a cigar, and become in love with a foreign woman. Both Richie and Lobel are virgins, and they fantasize about their first sexual experiences.
Overall, the painting creates unity. All of the elements that are put into this painting creates a sense of completeness. For example, if we didn’t have the element color, then the painting would be black and white, which wouldn’t give you the entire story. Like the blood that is
Artworks are those that use natural tools in an aesthetically pleasing way, to express some deep meanings desired by the artist, for which this art is found.
