REPORTER: The reporter/father (W. J. Coleman Jr.) called to report verbal and physical abuse. On Sunday, the reporter contacted Law enforcement, and they went out to the home; the police officer suggested that the reporter contact DHS. According to the reporter, Tonya (mother) slaps the child in the face (unknown when/on going). It is unknown if the child had any visible marks or bruises. The reporter said Tonya verbally (cursing) abuses the child. Also, the grandmother (Shirley) and mother (Tonya) was disowning the child and threatening her because she said she wanted to stay with her father. The grandmother and mother told the child “you’re going to be just like your father”. Also, the reporter said the uncle (Detrick) and grandmother (Shirley)
A report was received on 06/05/2017 alleging that the mother (Hermionne) left Ashante (C-V 17) with a non-relative since 02/2017 without any legal rights. According to the report, the mother refuses to take her child back home and will not engage with Ms. Aarons (caretaker) to provide legal documentation for the child to be enroll in school and taken to a Primary Care Physician. Ashante has not been is school for the past 4 months and are unable to enroll in school without paperwork. According to the report, Ashante self mutilates her arms, and the mother refuses to get counseling. The report indicates Ashante was to follow-up with a Cardiologist for a chest pain and the mother refuses to take her to the doctor.
The reporting party (RP) stated a home visit was made on 4/8/16 for foster child Ronny Perdomo. During the visit the RP observed multiple bruising to the foster child's lower part of his spine, upper left shoulder, and on his back area. The RP stated she took pictures of the bruises. The foster mother Ana Ramos explanation for the bruising was the child is Anemic. The RP stated on 4/11/16 she consulted with her SCSW who advised her to take the child for a forensic exam. The RP stated on 4/12/16 she took the child to have a medical examination. The RP stated on 4/19/16 at approximately 1:50PM she received a call from a Nurse Practitioner (name not provided) from High Desert Regional Clinic who informed the RP the child's bruising was highly
On 09/10/15 Ms. McClain voluntarily admitted her son to Parkwood for treatment; the child has not been given a discharge date. During the assessment with the child and his mother, Jameraqua disclosed to the reporter that he and his mother have had multiple physical altercations in the past and a several months ago his mother whipped him with an extension cord. The child did not have any visible marks or bruises and indicated to the reporter he doesn’t have any. Jameraqua feels his mother fights him because she dislikes him; Ms. Mitchell is unaware of the reasons. The reporter witnessed a volatile relationship between the child and mother and they had to be separated during his assessment.
Gwenyth came to school on 09/03/15 with bruises on her left arm and the child indicated to the reporter that she had bruises on her buttock area; the bruises do not require any medical treatment. Gwenyth told Mr. Temple on 08/31/15 her mother asked her if she’d put clothes in the wash. Gwenyth thought she had and told her mother yes but later remembered she hadn’t; Ms. Daly thought the child lied to her and whipped her with a belt on her buttocks area, hit her with a wooden spatula on the arm until it broke, and grabbed her by the neck threw her on the floor and this is when she punched the child in her nose. PER REPORTER: Curlydria is learning grown folks stuff. She is popping, danching, and opening her legs. Her mother teachers her to dance inappropriately. There are concerns that the mother hits the children in the back with her fist and pops them onthe head. They have no marks or bruises. Per reporter, mom is addicted to marijuana and she constantly smokes around the children. Mom is currently pregnant. Mom purchases drugs on the street. Drugs are not accessible to the children and the children have not been harmed hurt. Reporter stated Glenntavious loves his games. Mom allows her boyfriend to play the games while Glenntavious watches. Per reporter, mom got back pay over $1,000 for food stamps. Mom couldnt have Glenntavious a birthday party.
Reporter see the children everyday. Reporter cooks enough for the children to eat. They were eating bologna sandwiches and cold cuts. The children are being clothed. They have clothes at other people homesdown the street. A woman put them out because the mother and grandmother curse and beat on the children. The children curse back at the mother and grandmother. The mother tells the grandmother don't hit my damn children. Mom tells the grandmother she will buss her in her face. This happens everyday. The grandmother is sickly. Per reporter, if it wasn't for the grandmother, welfare would have been got the children. Reporter stated Larry is not in school anymore because he was kicked out for fighting. Larry cursed the bus driver out and he can't ride the bus anymore. Per reporter, the family has no where to stay. They are living in an abandoned house. Reporter has discused the concerns with the mother. Mom was told the police would be called. Mom said it's her damn children and she do what she wants. A man calls the children his grandchildren. I called the constituent, Ms Priyanee, whosaid is the maternal grandmother of a 4 year-old girl, Alexis. She said that Alexis has been placed with her, but has court ordered supervised visitations with her father, Brian Fast. Ms Priyanee said that since last year she is desperately asking for help because her granddaughter has repeatedly reported that her father is touching her "who-ha" and the CW case worker Christine Kristy and the supervisor are not doing nothing even though her therapist, Dr Linda Staton has also reported.
On 2/13/18, Hennepin Child Protection accepted a report alleged neglect, failure to provide shelter, environmental hazards Brandeja, Brandeon, Branden by mother, Latisha Harris. On 4-17-18 it was reported that Latisha was hospitalized for her mental health and possible drug use. Per reporter police reported that the family lives in a “garbage house” when they picked her up but there was no other information regarding the condition of the home. Per reporter the children were being cared for by their grandmother while their mother was hospitalized.
Between 08/31/15-09/02/15, Deniyah has alleged repeatedly that her mother slaps her in the face, twist her foot around likes she’s trying to break it, and that she witnesses her grandmother beat her mother. On 09/02/15 Deniyah put her foot in her lap and turned it has if she tried to break it; the child also told the reporter her mother punches her and twist her leg. Deniyah began the conversation with school staff by stating someone was in her grandmother’s home, in her grandmother’s bed. Ms. Fields caught Justice’s friend and beat her. Whenever Justice got angry with her mother, she slapped Deniyah in her face until it bled; Deniyah did not have any visible marks or bruises. PER REPORTER: Hannah lives with her father. There is an investigation going on in Pontotoc County for Hannah. Hannah disclosed that sexual abuse went on at her mother's home. She said it was from her cousin. The cousin is also a child. There are other children that live in the home. Reporter wants to make sure he (cousin) doesn't sexually abuse the other children. It is unknown if the other children are being sexually abused. Reporter has spoke with Tippah County about the concerns. Reporter stated it is unknown if the primary caretaker is aware of what's going on. Reporter has not discussed the concerns with the primary caretaker or the cousin. Reporter stated it is unknown who was suppose to watch the children when the incident occurred.
Mother reported that she was upset and did not want the disagreement to escalate. She asked that child to go stay at the MGM home. Child has his own room at the MGM’s home. Mother reported that at the time she was very upset and text her mother to come get the child’s belonging. Mother reported that she wanted to teach her son a lesson by telling him to go stay with the MGM. Mother reported that she wanted child to know that drugs are not allowed in her home. Mother reported that since child has been at the MGM home she has attempted to contact him. Child does not answer her text message nor her phone calls. Mother reported that she offered to give the MGM $50 per week to help her while the child is temporarily staying there. MGM refused to take the money. Mother reported that she pays for the child’s cell phone bill. Mother reported that she loves her child and has high expectations and wants him to stay on the right path. Mother reported that she wanted her son to enlist in the arm force. Mother indicated that she is very upset with her family members failed to contact her when her son was arrested. Worker observed mother becoming emotional/crying. Mother reported that she had to find out by the department that her son was arrested. The reporting party (RP) stated on 5/16/16 a visit was made to the foster home for a visit with Danny and Alex. While the RP was speaking with Danny, his brother Alex interrupted and informed the RP the foster mother is hitting him. Alex disclosed that his foster mother pushed him and pulled him by his shirt when she grabbed him. The RP stated no marks or bruises were observed on the child. Danny intervened and informed the RP he brother was lying. According to the RP the foster mother was informed regarding the information regarding Alex's statement. The foster mother stated she told the RP just before her arrival that Alex kicked his brother Danny in his mouth and Danny retaliated by pushing and pulling Alex by his shirt. The foster mother
The reporter was contacted at 2:08pm at 09/01/2015 for additional information. The reporter said they were suspecting abuse, but didn’t specify. The reporter was asked was she suspecting molestation, and she replied that she didn’t want to say something that wasn’t true. The reporter never gave a clear answer to what she was alleging. The reporter said Jessica (teacher) has been very concerned about Harmony. Harmony transferred to Mooreville Elementary on 08/24/2015, and she has been arriving to school late (10:30am). It is unknown how many times the child has been tardy/late. The teacher (Jessica) spoke with Wendy about the victim being late for school, and she said “the child will be on time and they were in the process of moving”. The child has been coming to school not clean (not getting a bath), and Jessica felt as though something was not right. Also, last night (08/31/2015), the reporter said the child did not get a bath. Reporter believes the children are being molested by the father. It's unknown if the mother has been involved or not. Reporter believes this because it was stated by some children in the neighborhood that they had been messed with. Reporter is not sure if the step-children have been abused or neglected. They (Skylar, Kinsley) come to the home on the weekends. They live with their mother. Reporter is not sure the exact words being said. Reporter believes DHS has been out about the same thing. Reporter didn't think it was a good idea to speak with the children. Reporter is not sure if they need immediate medical attention. They probably have bruising on their legs. Reporter is unsure where the bruising came from. It's unknown who caused the bruising.
The reporting party (RP) stated that foster child was asked to leave the home. The foster child left the home and went to a friend's home (name no available) for two days. Prior to the child leaving the home she asked her foster parents to contact her FFA social worker to have her transferred out of the home. According to the RP the foster parents refused to contact the child's social worker. Eventually the foster parents contacted the FFA and the child was taken to a receiving home and from there to Alma House. The RP stated prior to the foster child leaving the home there was a pushing and shoving incident between foster parent and child. According to the RP the foster father attended a funeral and did not pick the foster child up from school.
