As a young boy, I never truly put much into school. I put as little thought about college as well, but it took one moment that made me want the desire to succeed in my life and make something of it. Working for 12 straight hours in the middle of the hot sun, making minimum wage wasn't how I wanted to live. Going to multiple jobs and having to work all weekend, even during school occasionally was extremely difficult. This just gave me that extra drive to be more superior than anyone else. I fell in love with politics at the age of 10, the year was 2004, and I liked John Kerry because he shared my name. I also supported him because my father, at the time, was supporting George W. Bush and I was a rather antagonistic child. Among the friendliness, location, and pristine medical reputation, this scholarship was a large reason why I proudly chose the U of A for my undergraduate studies, because without the financial aid there was diminutive chance of being able to afford a college education. During my first semester freshman year, I struggled with common ‘teenager problems’ (low-self esteem, peer pressure, etc.), but there was also an added weight: I graduated high school at the age of fifteen, and it was at that time I left home for university life. When we are starving, we usually crave the first food item we can find. As a student of audio production, I plan to further my education to reach my goal of being an audio engineer or a music producer. I recently moved to Leesville, Louisiana from Park City, Utah. The college I was attending in Utah, Salt Lake Community College (SLCC), has a much different campus environment than the Northwestern State University (NSU) campus at Leesville.
