About half way between Ishpeming and Champion lies Wawonowin Country Club. This will forever be one of my favorite places in the world. Wawonowin is the place I learned to play my favorite sport golf. Also it could be considered my second home growing up. During the summer when I’m not home, most likely you will find me here. To others it may seem like just your average golf course, but to me it is one of the nicest places on earth.
As hunters across the state venture out into Alaska's forests and tundra in hopes of filling their freezer with moose meat, hunters in the Lower kuskokwim have bit the bullet and hung up their rifles. They are entering the first year of a self-imposed five-year moose-hunting moratorium they hope will significantly improve their moose hunting in the future.“The main stem of the Lower Kuskokwim is one of the few places left in Alaska that has outstanding moose habitat and extremely low numbers of moose,” said Roger Seavoy, the Bethel area biologist for the Alaska Department of Fish and Game.
Richard Kuklinski was born on April 11, 1935 in Jersey City, New Jersey. He was raised in an abusive environment. His father would beat him for no reason at all and all he ever knew was hate because that is all he’s ever known. His father Stanley would beat him with an iron rod and lock him in the basement for hours or days without food. Stanley went so far one night that he killed Richard’s younger brother due to hitting him in the head. His father then abandoned the family when Richard was 16. I believe his upbringing is a large contributing factor of him becoming a serial killer.
In 1932 a football team was founded with the name Redskins. Redskins being an outdated contemptuous term used to refer to Native Americans. This term has always been offensive and as time progressed it's become more controversial. Now, 85 years later, the name is continuing to stir up trouble within many more communities. Christine Flowers fans these flames of controversy through her writing. In the article “Amid so much real trouble, who has time for the ‘Redskins’ crisis?”, Native Americans are marginalized through the use of association, microinvalidations, and dismissive framing.
It is hard to imagine living in the frigid, inhospitable climate of Alaska, Northern Canada, and Greenland. Unforgiving winters, barren tundras, freezing temperatures, and days without sunlight were all challenges faced by the Eskimos (Inuit).

Whitsett, North Carolina is a town that many have never heard of, yet it is my hometown. Situated in the Piedmont region of North Carolina, Whitsett is located directly between Greensboro and Burlington, North Carolina in eastern Guilford County. Having moved from a house located in the city limits of Greensboro, NC at the age of three, Whitsett is practically all I have ever known as “home.” My parents decided to move to Whitsett because they were able to find a larger and more suitable house with the arrival of my younger brother, Landon, in the year 1999. With almost 19 years having gone by, my family still lives in the same house today. Our house is located in the neighborhood development known as “Stoney Creek.” Importantly, this is the

While in today’s society, as the people are still religious; it is in a good way that brings joy to others not along misery. In David’s society, the citizens of Waknuk live and have been taught in a community where diversity does not exist or individuality that is due to their religious beliefs. The people of Waknuk believe in the same things, live the same way, and anyone or anything different from the rest of them, and varying from their idea of “the true image” as God would have it is destroyed. The plants are burned, animals are slaughtered, and human deviations are forever gone to the Fringes. In the Fringes deviations are out of sight from Waknuk, they cannot reproduce, and will either die or live a miserable life. The main reason that the citizens of Waknuk desire such sameness and conformity is because of their religious beliefs. In today’s society people are accepting to those who are different, making the world a better place to a greater degree than

The residents of Waknuk are getting further away from perfection because they are not able to welcome people that are abnormal in the Waknuk people’s eyes. The statement is proven many times in this book for example when Sophie and her family had to escape the Waknuk community because a boy named Alan noticed that she was abnormal because of her 6th toe, she and her family knew that was not appreciated by the Waknuk people but they still lived there for many years until Alan ruined their life. Another point that proves this statement is when David is punished by his dad because he is a friend to Sophie so this justifies that even kids are not allowed to hang out with out kids just because they are different. The statement
