ASDA was built in 1965 by a group of farmers in the North of Britain (Corporate Watch, 2013). ASDA is a private limited company and bought by Wal-Mart in 1999, Asda is the British arm of the biggest retail chain of the United States (Wal-Mart’s ASDA, 2011). The Company retails food, clothing, general merchandise, toys and financial services (Wal-Mart’s ASDA 2011). The company is struggling hard now to get into the pace of intense competition in the UK Markets (BBC Business News 2013).
