Walt Disney Research Paper Walter Elias Disney was an amazing film producer, director, screenwriter, voice actor, animator, entrepreneur and philanthropist. Mr. Disney left this world, impacting and inspiring the lives of everyone and changing the world of movie-making forever. Walt Disney was the creator of popular animated characters such as Mickey Mouse, Donald Duck, Alice in Wonderland, and Snow White. “The cartoon was considered the debut of Mickey, and his girlfriend Minnie.” (“Walt Disney”) Production for Steamboat Willie took place between July and September of 1928, and cost approximately $5,000. The release of Steamboat Willie caused thousands of people to line up at the Universal Colong Theatre in New York. The premiere date for the film was on November 18, 1928. Disney made about $500 a week from the release. “The success of Steamboat Willie not only led to international fame for Walt Disney but for Mickey as well.” (“Walt Disney”)
As a matter of fact, Walt Disney had a tremendous influence on mass media! He influenced the media to expand their business deals and resources. The release of his very successful movie Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs led the film to become the most successful motion picture! “The film became the most successful motion picture in 1938 and earned over $8 million on its initial release.” (“Walt Disney”) Likewise, the release of the film encouraged the media to use different special effects and record better frames. Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs was the first American film to be made in color, so it influenced the media to use the Technicolor process for their upcoming movies. “Snow White, the first animated feature in America made in Technicolor, was released in February 1938…” (“Walt Disney”) In the movie there is also sound. Walt Disney was a very influential man to the entertainment industry. He made animation a whole new type of entertainment. Although Walt went through many struggles and problems, he pushed on and eventually saw results for all his hard work. Many hardships got in Disney’s way such as unsupportive parents and even bankruptcy; Walt pushed on through, always creating, working hard, and persevering to accomplish his dream.
This world has existed for millions of years; in all of that time there has been a countless amount of people who have done fantastic things. Walter Elias Disney was one of those people that influenced not just a few people, but millions. Disney has done the unimaginable and while doing that he pushed others to do so as well. He impacted the lives of everyone watching him by serving as a role model. Disney was also a monumental influence of the mass media. Finally, he left a lasting impression on the world by leaving behind his intentions for his company.
Walter Elias Disney is an admirable person because he inspired people, brought joy to the world, and worked hard to accomplish his dreams. He came from a small town with little money and a hard childhood, to being one of the most famous movie producers and animation specialists ever. He has always had a love for art, which has helped him with his cartoons and other animations. Movies let a little light into many peoples lives. People were beyond thrilled to see the new technology the 1930s had to offer. Many would pay about twenty five cents to attend the movies. The nation quickly expanded with many movie theaters, and it topped over the amount of banks and doubled the amount of hotels. Disney was a visionary in terms of cartoons. Disney views and visions came from his persistence for the future. Disney has five main components in which it operates, which includes media networks, parks and resorts, studio entertainment, consumer products, and interactive.
A Mississippi steamboat was included in the plans for the first Disney theme park that was to be built across the street from his Walt Disney Studios in Burbank, California. Although this park was abandoned in favor of the much larger Disneyland, the plan for having a riverboat attraction was retained.
The magic of Disney is an interesting topic to know more about. The idea of being in a fantasy world and enjoy the magic in their stories and cartoons make it magic for children and adults. Two of the best Entrepreneurs started the project and transform it into a multimillionaire company that will stay long. The Walt Disney Company is a company that started from the bottom thanks two big entrepreneurs Roy and Walt Disney. Even though they did not have a lot to start with, the organizational structure and leadership towards their employees was key to success. I expect to learn from their strategies, leadership and entrepreneur vision, transform a small partnership business to a multimillionaire company is an interesting topic to learn about.
Walt Disney was a film producer media magnate and co-founder of the Walt Disney company. He created many famous cartoon characters such as Mickey Mouse and Donald Duck. He made plans for and his name was used for the famous, successful and massive Disney Theme Parks. Walt Disney received 59 nominations for the Academy Awards and he won 22 of them. I will be talking about how Walt Disney was a famous film producer and created many famous cartoon characters that we all know and love such as Donald Duck and Mickey Mouse.

I have chosen Walt Disney because pretty much everyone knows of him and knows what kind of organizations he has built. After Disney made Laugh-O-Grams at the Kansas City Film Ad Company, he set out with his brother Roy to Hollywood (“Walt Disney”). In 1923 Walt Disney Studios was made. “In 1937, Disney's innovative first full length animated feature, SNOW WHITE AND THE SEVEN DWARFS, was released to critical acclaim and worldwide success”(“Walt Disney Studios History”). It secured $1,499,000 and ended up with eight Oscars, even though the depression was going on.“During the next five years, Walt Disney Studios completed another string of full-length animated films, Pinocchio (1940), Fantasia (1940), Dumbo (1941) and Bambi (1942)”(“Walt Disney”). Disney bought a patent for Technicolor that allowed him to be able to make color animated films while other animators could not (Kim). “Disney was also among the first to use television as an entertainment medium”(“Walt Disney”). One day on a train ride home, Disney started to imagine and think about a mouse named Mortimer. His wife, Lillian Disney, recommended he call the mouse Mickey (Admin.).
