Because of Lincoln's great accomplishments his face was proudly put on Mount Rushmore. As well as the monument honoring him in Washington's National Mall. I don't think any other president could have done what president Lincoln did for our country.
Abraham Lincoln saved America: “ He led the Union to war so that he could stop the southern states from being separated from the United States,” ( Eduardo) ( Hatfield 3). Without Abraham Lincoln America may have divided and collapsed. Therefore, people can thank him for saving us through his fearlessness leadership. After Lincoln was killed, people mourned over their president: “ Tens of thousands of Americans lined the railroad route and paid their respect to their fallen leader,” (History.com) ( Hatfield 4). Because of Lincoln’s noble actions and bold leadership, people were dramatized after he had been killed. Lincoln’s valor actions showed why he was a fearless leader; thus, he it was very unjust to kill such a prominent leader. Yet, many angry civilians were against Lincoln’s actions not thinking that they were

He was convinced that within the branches of government, the presidency alone was empowered not only to uphold the Constitution, but also to protect, and defend it. Lincoln was able to lead our country and preserve the Union, keeping the United States from splintering during the devastating times of the Civil War. There has been many great men and women in America that has been an influence in the United States of America who strived to make the United States a better country. One of the many people who has been and continues to be one of the great American influential people is the sixteenth president of the United States, Abraham Lincoln. Lincoln strove to do his duties to serve America during his presidency. He served our country during the time of conflict and kept our country from falling apart during the American Civil War. Also, Lincoln gave his life for what he believed in. George Washington and Abraham Lincoln both accomplished tremendous things but are also surrounded by myths and legends which make them seem to be better than they really were. Although, Washington and Lincoln were two of the greatest leaders in American history, Washington had more military experience, did more for the nation as a whole, and helped bring America together, which proves that Washington was a better president.
Abraham Lincoln, George Washington, and Thomas Jefferson were all certainly very strong presidents. Washington founded and built our country, Jefferson expanded on it, and Lincoln modernized it. The great question is: Which of these three was the strongest? I believe Lincoln to be the strongest president, because of his aid to the United States during the Civil War, his abolishment of slavery in America, and his contribution to make permanent the freedoms of minorities and their citizenship in America, through the Emancipation Proclamation, not to mention the amendments that passed following his death. Firstly, Lincoln helped America survive the Civil War.
Abraham Lincoln is by far our most revered president in the history of the United States. He had a strong moral vision of where his country must go to preserve and enlarge the rights of all her people, but he was also a good man with a strong sense of character and a great discipline in the art of law; and he sought to continue the great and mighty legacy of the Constitution. He believed that the Founding Fathers had drawn up the Constitution without the mention of slavery because they felt that it would later die of a natural death. He would soon learn that that would not be the case.
Besides Lincoln's revered speeches, there are other things he is remembered for during his two terms as president. He is also remembered for his Godly character, his many speeches and letters, and as a man of humble beginnings whose determination and perseverance led him to become the nation's 16th president.
Abraham Lincoln: Democratic or Autocratic? Abraham Lincoln was of of the most democratic presidents in the history of the United States, as evident by his belief in government of the people, by the people, and for the people; this phrase is rather popular, few political figures have stood by its true values. Lincoln’s presidency took place during the Civil War, a battle between capitalism and feudalism, in which he was determined to regain the entirety of the Union. In times of crisis, he greatly overstepped the constitutional limits of his office, which is why many people label him as one of the most autocratic presidents in U.S. history.
You have heard of him in every textbook and learned about him in school. Abraham Lincoln made a lasting impact on the United States because he was able to maintain the continuation of the United States. He was a very open minded person and was able to understand both aspects of the War. As a president and Commander in Chief of the United States Army, he was calm under pressure and very generous. He had a lasting impression on the South with his Ten Percent plan and was viewed as a hero for African Americans and rightfully so. Freeing them from chains in the South and giving them the right and responsibilities that every United States citizen would have. Creating a government from ruins, having it destroyed and building it back up again, is something only mentally strong people such as Lincoln could do. Abraham Lincoln rose from humble beginnings to become one of the greatest ever presidents of the United States.
