Stalin is well known for his evil deed such as massacring people, cause the World War II. It is the fact that he was the dictator who abandoned his friends, family, and his humanity. Stalin was patient when his wife and son were dying in the prison. However, can we just say Stalin was the villain? It is beyond dispute that massacring people can’t be forgiven with any reasons; however, he also developed Russia into the one of the most powerful countries in the world and led victory in World War II. If we compare Adolf Hitler to him, both of them were dictators who had ultimate power; however, Stalin didn’t fall into delusion of grandeur or satisfy his selfish interests and desires. Ironically after his death, Soviet Union achieved ideal socialist state. Even though, his 5 year plan was completed by sacrifice of millions of people, Russia achieved well developed industrialization which led Russia’s victory in World War II. Russia’s economy was so harsh that peasants decided to cause the civil war which has been prolonged for 3 years, and Lenin provided the ideal plan NEP that every people do same amount of work and get same amount of payment. However, this was not enough to reconstruct the nation. After Lenin’s death, Stalin became the leader. Stalin abolished the Lenin’s NEP and changed to the plan that government decide everything. First he forced private farm owner to join kolkhozy, the collective farm. Then he focused on heavy industry such as coal and steel rather than agriculture. As a result, Russia’s development of industry has dramatically increased about 30%. South Korea’s development of industry was also great; however, it is far beyond that of the Russia.
