The three water bottle reviews that I have read, along with the McCoy review, all were very similar in regards to how they analyzed and critiqued the specific water bottle they each used. The price, the durability, functionality and the style of the bottle were the main focuses of each product. However, the purpose of the reviews varied. Some were informative and helpful with high praise while others were only trying to sell their product. Oddly, they all targeted the same audience only with a very different purpose, which was someone shopping for a water
a. Size in sales: In 2001, bottled water was among the world’s most attractive beverage categories, with global sales exceeding 32 billion gallons and annual growth averaging nearly 9 percent between 1996 and 2001.
The main issue with bottled water is the effect it has on the environment. Plastic bottles are drastically increasing the size of landfills and can take up to five hundred years to decompose. At the rate plastic
Your goal is to determine which store has the best deal on water bottles and convince your business partner where to shop. To do so, you will create a written report, including a graph, which compares prices at two stores.
Another misconception that many people hold lies in what happens to bottles of water once they are “recycled”. People believe that once they send a plastic bottle on its way to be recycled, it will be converted into a new, usable, recyclable container. Generally speaking, this is not the case. The majority of recycled plastic gets a new life as something non-recyclable, such as plastic lumber or parking lot bumpers. This does not amount to as high a rate of waste reduction as one would hope for.
hydration is the process of providing an adequate amount of liquid to bodily tissues. Not only water can hydrate you. Things like, oatmeal, coffee, lettuce, yogurt and things of that sort can hydrate an athlete. They does not give athlete the okay not to drink water.our bodies need water to mostien food and transport nutrients to and from blood cells. They does not give athlete the okay not to drink water. To people, water bottles can be viewed as a portable refreshing beverage or a disgraceful accumulative waste. In “Defense of Water Bottle”, Lauria states that the ban of water bottles only damages one’s health and environment. This is a cause of people’s preference to drink other beverages such as soda and energy drinks, beverages that require more energy to produce than water bottles. As a consequence, one’s health diminishes because there is no alternative choices other than sugary sweets. Lauria’s use of evidence and logic, strongly strengthens her claim to dissuade the ban of water bottles. By knowing her audience, she uses non-confusing evidence to help her argument such as “more than one-half of people would choose soda instead” (1).
Water bottles are a staple in today’s society. In his article, “Costly water: Bottled and Sold: The History Behind Our Obsession with Bottled Water,” author Martin W. Lewis quotes Peter H. Gleick when he says that, “Consumers buy bottled water for four main reasons: safety, taste, style, and convenience,” and he’s absolutely right (Par. 9). Bottled water is cleaner, healthier, and more convenient than tap water. More people are more apt to grab a bottle of water on the go, rather than fill a reusable bottle from the sink. It’s just easy. At least, that’s what we are led to believe. Bottled water is constantly in battle with its not-so-lavish counterpart, tap water. Some will even argue that the benefits of bottled water alone outweigh the cost. They, however, do not. The fact is, water bottles have plagued society for years and have become a growing menace to our environment and our people.
“Myth:Bottled water is not as regulated as well regulated as tap water. Fact:the FDA controlling the safety and quality of bottled water must be as good as the EPA regulations which controls tap water” (Bottled Water Question and Answer). Also, bottled water has lower levels of sodium, which helps many people with health conditions. Another cool fact is bottled water has an “indefinite shelf life”(Bottled Water Maters), meaning if the bottled water were to stay unopened and in a cool spot it is good to go for a long time. Additionally bottled water companies are also a major asset to our economy, the companies make and sell the bottled water employed about 137,000 Americans and pay them about $6.3 billion in wages and benefits. Another good thing about water bottles is it can be donated from big companies, such as Walmart. Walmart has donated 6.5 billion bottles of water to the school kids of Flint, MI (Adamczyk). Many people do not realize how wonderful bottled water really is, bottled water can be transported easily, bottled water can also be used in many situations, also bottled water can
Part 1 (water): At the Memorial Union Market and Café, there was a total of four different types of bottled water. In the bottle water, Dasani Lemon Water, the ingredients found were citric acid, natural flavors, potassium sorbate, sodium benzoate, calcium disodium EDTA, sodium citrate, sucralose, phosphoric acid, and acesulfame potassium. The ingredients are used for various purposes in the water. Citric acid, sodium citrate, and phosphoric acid are used to replicate the tartness found in lemons. Potassium sorbate, sodium benzoate, and calcium disodium EDTA are used to preserve the taste of the water and to prevent the growth of microorganisms. Sucralose and acesulfame potassium are used as low-calorie sweeteners. Natural flavors is added
Most of us realize that we should get some water a day, yet what number of us really take a good quantity? Between the various things we need to consider, hydrating isn't generally the primary worry at the concern of our thoughts.
“There are over a billion people on this planet who do not have access to clean drinking water.” –
Is it really worth buying that bottled water? Bottled water has always been a convenient source of refreshment, but lately many people are arguing that bottled water is not the best choice. A new wave of supporters is emerging for the use of tap water over bottled water. This view is shared by Nicole Cotroneo’s in her article for The New York Times, “Movement Against Bottled Water Gains Municipal Adherents,” Annie Gentile’s “Mayors Push Benefits of Cities’ Tap Water” for American City & County, and “New Study Finds Fault With Some Bottled Waters; Tap Water a Better Bet,” written in Environmental Nutrition. The articles voice support for tap water over bottled water based on factors of environmental effect, high cost and safety.
You have a sore throat and you NEED WATER and you go to the tap BUT NO WATER comes out you haven’t paid your water bill. This is just one of the reasons, why Bottled water should not be banned.
People buy bottled water for many reasons, some such as its does not contain any calories and it has a refreshing taste. So then why are people banning it? People are banning bottled water because someone has recently found out that that Aquafina Water is actually came from the same source as tap water. Is it just Aquafina that is doing this tho? No it is not after the information about Aquafina has been released many more water bottled companies have came out and said that almost 25% of bottled water is actually tap water.
The reason for millions of people using plastic water bottles is that everyone needs to drink water. However, many people do not know that a plastic bottle can be more harmful than beneficial for the drinker’s health. Refillable water bottles (which may be plastic but are made for refillable use) should be used instead of plastic bottles because they are cheaper, healthier, and better for the Earth.
